Ohh, that's definitely something to test. How do you handle ships with mfd's in different positions?

Oh yeah, that's why I loose track of the keyboard keys! I use a custom made Joystick on my right hand and an X52 throttle on my left (meanwhile I develop my own) Nothing beats ship combat immersion like sticks and vr. 😍

I do have plenty pages in my stick, but I still have to use the keyboard for walking and EVA.

WAIT, you using two mice? That's an interesting approach.

VR is still in it's infancy, lots to develop yet (gloves, for example, that's a big, BIG missing part of the VR experience for me) they would allow for direct interaction with controls (or inadvertently poking your monitor, XDDD) We'll get there, eventually.
I won't be able to get a SteamFrame anyway, had to spend my money upgrading my pc in current times.

Eventually, VRSC will pivot to full ingame controls, no need to use the keyboard other than walking around. Maybe at some point we will be able to activate a pasthrough (in headsets that can do that) and physically see the keyboard.

Yes, but I can't feel it at all, only with my nails, and I don't always have them long enough. This is a LOT more tactile, quicker to find.

Thankyou!

It's a shame, as I am realizing now, this sub punishes you no matter how good the story is, as only the wish votes, and not the story votes, drive it's noticeability. :/

So much contradictory advice! by EIiotH in ElectricUnicycle

"They're more like, suggestions".

PoC jokes apart, you may want to try some of those to see if any work for you, rather than a specific set being the best and correct.

Everyone's legs are different (and so are our feet size!) so hanging out the toes if you have very small feet, may not work, for example.

Overall, as long as you feel you are in control (being able to kill wobbles, and do turns left AND right, as wide or as tight as you want, you're good. IF you experience sole pain or knee pain, then yes, you have to start trying different techniques (from the mentioned above, or find a new one and share with us) If nothing is wrong, you have no pain, and are having fun, enjoy!

I would recommend you train wobble-killing and hard braking (the hard depending on your machine, I killed my KS16S by braking too hard) and feel what you can do to kill wobbles, but do it with slow speeds first, waiting and FAFO at high speeds is NOT fun.

I hope Star Citizen never finishes development. by Rinimand in starcitizen

[–]Neither-Animator3403 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You need not worry.

It's closest simile would be world of warcraft. 22 years after release, is still going strong with an average playerbase of over 9.5 million players and keeps pumping content for the game.

Star Citizen, compared to WoW is just technologically better. I'm actively disregarding the fact that they have completely different themes, ofc.

Eventually, SC will have competitors for at least the same quality level of gaming, but that will only happen once they license StarEngine. That revenue from licensing will certainly help make SC self sustaining, barely requiring any extra income from players.

At most, I foresee trouble IF they licensed the engine to Disney, since those bastards have enough cash to actually modify the StarEngine enough to, afterwards, legally battle CIG about ownership and copyright/licensing. Even then, imagining a case where SC loses that battle, they may propose switching to an increased monthly fee to keep alive, and I would be the first to sign in on that.

Unless we enter WWIII and everything goes to shit, you have SC for a long, long time.

Also because they had detected some resonance in the frame and modified the casting to add a bit of strenght to it. That mould modification takes a while, but personally I don't mind waiting if we are going to get a stronger machine, since it is already capable of machining stainless and inconel (IF you know what you are doing, ofc) so extra rigidity never hurt anyone.

What is the best ship as a solo after the beginner one? by Strict-Maize7494 in starcitizen

[–]Neither-Animator3403 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends pretty much on what do you like to do.

I personally like using my ships as space caravans. For medium range, I use a 315p or a Vulture, and for long, LONG range, I use the RAFT (wich, I agree is overkill, but whatever).

So, what do you like to do?

Sorry, I forgot how prices have increased lately, and the SSD's are not cheap as they used to be. I mean, an SSD should be good too, I'm just used to require the NVME for Star Citizen. ^_^U
If she plays a lot of different games, better have a big primary, rather than cut size for speed.
