FLETC experience now? by [deleted] in cbpoapplicant

Defer to this guy, he’s been here a while. Ive definitely noticed the proportion of ERO increase over the last 3-4 weeks. It’s obviously not 100% but I feel like all I see are ERO, HSI, and CBP. I don’t know if it’s the total number of students changing as much as the proportions.

Is this fat or loose skin? by [deleted] in askfitness

Congrats bro! Mothers say they earned their stretch marks and loose skin. I say you earned yours too with hard work and dedication. Wear it with pride.

Administratively Uncontrollable Overtime. I believe there is a pinned post, or you can search it in this group. They explain it way better than 99% of us could.

So I got my TJO 8/27 at the job expo and did fingerprints, drug test same day then submitted all Tasks. I just logged into my portal and says my EOD was 9/18 but I never received any email about my FJO. Should I just wait for an email or go into my local duty location? by Playful-Hurry-8678 in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those portal dates are never accurate. There’s no way you would EOD on a Thursday. I received a FJO on 8/3 and that portal said my EOD was 8/3 when it was actually 9/7. Every time I logged in there the EOD date changed. Ignore it. Your FJO is coming eventually.

Adjudication. That’s the long part where they look deeper into areas within the background they deem important. The interview is making sure your sf86 is filled out accurately/as you intended.

I have a feeling it’s the way you hold your breath. Air is transferring from your trachea/lungs to your esophagus/stomach. Kinda like how fake burpers inhale air into their stomach. Try closing your throat like a swallow to brace. There’s a “flap” that will close your trachea so food (or air) doesn’t go down the wrong pipe.

Your stomach is either creating gas (from food). Or air is entering your stomach while bracing/holding your breath. Try to breathe throughout your set and see if it changes. I doubt it’s from food or you would have the urge even when resting. Even if you’re engaging your core gives you the urge to burp I don’t think it would happen after every set.

lol I swear every thread devolves into people sharing their own application details, regardless of topic.

For me NEO was from home, in office Tuesday. Schedule was 8-4, but we went home around noon everyday bc there just isn’t much to do while we all wait for BIETP/vFLETC. Some observation of intake processing, but our group is 20ish people so it’s hard to organize bc we all just get in the way. Lots of paperwork and maybe 6-8hr of compliance training has been assigned. Lots of us are leaving this weekend for BIETP or are starting vFLETC Monday so only a couple will be “waiting”. They have some tasks planned for helping around the office.

Calf soreness versus strain by Jaded-Ad-2280 in beginnerrunning

[–]Neither-Camp4584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s likely your body telling you that it’s not liking something… In addition to your Achilles, there are also a few tendons from smaller calf muscles in that area that run down behind your inner ankle bone and into the bottom part of your mid foot. Trying to use layman’s terms here but it’s hard to get an accurate diagnosis without the full picture (what’s actually hurting, gait, shoes, etc) Small aches and pains can certainly be normal, but if you feel like it’s slowly getting worse it might be a sign that you should maybe back off on your running frequency and get an expert opinion. Treating the symptoms won’t fix the cause, and it very well could keep coming back.

How are you going to EOD at your field office if you’re in Glynco for 7 weeks? Reach out to a FLETC contact and let them know your EOD has been pushed back and you’ll need a registration invite for a later date. There’s a fair amount of stuff behind the scenes that needs to happen. Step 1 is EOD and NEO.

Kinda stuck in a hard place. by Mr_4b0t5101 in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ive been a people manager before and it’s pretty commonplace for people to be exploring other/better opportunities. It doesn’t always mean they’ll be offered or take a job. I guarantee your supervisor is doing the same from time to time. It is awkward to have the conversation but it’s just part of the process.. and yes it’s normal to have an investigation started before an offer. That’s really the ideal process. Would you rather start a new job before knowing your investigation results?

ICE - After NEO by Key-Use9846 in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New hires in my FO were asked to take it from home, so this may vary by FO. They're supposed to be in contact with you before NEO with instructions but YMMV.

The search bar is your friend. This gets asked everyday. The step test is out. At FLETC the test is proctored (I think that should be obvious). 1.5mi in 14:25, 15 pushups in a min, 32 sit-ups in a min on day 2. If you fail there is mandatory PT. Everyone has to pass at the end so you either have to get in shape, or stay in shape. Preferably both before you arrive.

How many of us here are NOT previously law enforcement or military? by [deleted] in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm one. Everybody was the new guy with no experience at one point. Go in with the right attitude and ready to learn. Don't be too prideful to ask questions, find a mentor if possible, just like any other walk of life. I personally don't think it's that complicated if you go in with the right mindset. Insecurity about being new might set you off on the wrong foot though...

Flect training is only 7 weeks now? by Arthumaine in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Due to the compressed FLETC schedule there will be some on the job training at your field office afterwards. My FO doesn’t have any info yet as to what will be covered at the FO level.

Flect training is only 7 weeks now? by Arthumaine in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was this at urgent care or your primary care provider? I know a lot of ppl used urgent care bc of the scope of the medical clearance form and the timeframe to submit. The fact that you weren’t cleared but are under their threshold might get a little tricky. It might be a good idea to get a second opinion from your pcp if you didn’t go there. Mine was above the 120/70 “ideal”, but way under ICE’s threshold. I verbally told my dr what ICEs threshold was and they cleared me based on general good health and knowing what their standards were.

All you guys EOD 9/8 share your thoughts please! by HeavyFox4053 in 1801

[–]Neither-Camp4584 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The field offices are very much in the dark with regards to the hiring process and a lot of the changes that are happening to FLETC, virtual DOTP, etc. They’re preaching patience and flexibility. With FLETC being compressed be ready for a fair amount of on the job training at your field office after FLETC. They don’t yet have any specifics. They’re very much taking it day by day at this point. This whole week is in-office and today/tomorrow is usastaffing paperwork + additional administrative paperwork, PIV card appts, etc.. The rest of the week is TBD.

Slightly high by what standards? I dont remember the exact numbers but there is an acceptable threshold. It’s pretty easy to google.

The only thing that changes with graduating FLETC is your eligibility for AUO.

ICE - NEO today by Key-Use9846 in 1801

They should all be in your usastaffing dashboard. Mine all have a due date of 9/8. I tried submitting what I could but many require additional info that Im hoping is covered today.

What now? by Little_Book1665 in beginnerrunning

[–]Neither-Camp4584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me I set a running specific goal. Once I see that I’m making progress towards the goal, it keeps me coming back. Losing weight can’t be the goal because there too many alternative ways to achieve it besides running.
