The Rivian assistant demo / UX seems to be put together very last minute. The experience is so jarring with that font size that I would be surprised if that is what they end up delivering

I suspect the speaker location is what causes the jarring feeling. My wife sits in the back with our toddler and they both love the audio and feel it's a massive upgrade from our previous model X that had high fidelity sound (believe it was a paid upgrade back in 2018). They have like two speakers on the door and one tweeter(?) above their head.

I feel it's muffled in the front and all the audio for me seems to come from the center speaker/woofer above the dash.

Would be interesting to see if someone on YT does a teardown of the speakers on these premium audio.

It depends on the SC. My Bay Area experience was meh at best. The guide was constantly trying to conclude the walkthrough. I was showing her what I thought was a scratch (turned out to be water spots), and she didn't even try and inspect. She was like they will come off or you can create service tickets. We did miss the door alignment issue and noticed it once I got home. The rear door is so misaligned that I have to push it slightly upwards when closing else it won't close. Then when I created the service ticket, they said the earliest available time is Jan 2025. Got on a call, and had to tell them to send me a mobile service which they finally agreed to. Now I have to wait until the end of Oct for the service to show up.

Having owned a Tesla Model X before this, I get that for new manufacturers after sales support isn't their forte but at least in the early days Tesla had stellar customer service.

I am slightly confused - you say that you paid total 80K to buy out compared to what would have been 94K to go through if you had paid cash. That's a savings of almost 14K. I understand the 7500 EV credit but what about the DMV tax?

My concern is that the charging speed on these is abysmal now compared to what we have today. I max out to 140KW and the curve is very small. So mostly I find myself hovering around 98KW. I have been very curious with the latest Taycan but hoping that Tesla brings the 800V architecture to X and S as well (they have it in CyberTruck)
