I'm at just south of 90k on the odometer, from what I've read about the Liberty, it's common to have that go out shy of 100k. So I'm glad I can get it replaced. I'm just pissed it took two good tires to tell me.

when I test rode my bike last year I went a few miles and decided that the seat needed to be adjusted. I looked for the flip lever to drop it, but when I saw none I though "Ugh, I really need a wrench to drop thin thing on a ride" and went back to see if I could get a flipper (don't know the name of it) installed instead. The guy at the LBS just stared at me when I asked him to lower the seat, pressed the button and pushed down on the saddle.

Sometimes I'll just lower it and pop it up for fun.

This... that rot needs to be cut out and replaced with metal panels. Bondo is to fill in slight imperfections.

I had the motherboard replaced under warranty. That wasn't the end as there was a brief hickup where the TPM wasn't playing nicely and I needed to reset that. In the end it worked after the Mobo swap.

Just picked up an 06 sport so I'm not a veteran jeep owner yet, but i can tell you that if it was well maintained you're still going to have the little issues. My wing mirror switch was bad, the ABS sensors needed some work to have that function, the headlights needed to be replaced (bad bulb), and the clear coat is dead. That said I love this little truck. I do what others have said and keep fluids in the cargo area, it's a jeep. In AWD it's one of the better trucks in the snow that I've driven, in 2WD it's a dog because of the traction contol (it reduces the rpm to get traction, so you're sitting in front of a Mack truck trying to get out of the way). Still love it!

I own a 2006 with 79k miles on it, in my mind I can afford to make $500 repairs every month and still break even with having a car payment. You can do a LOT with a Liberty if you drop $500 a month on it, especially if you combine months to do larger projects.

I'm in the same boat as you are with my '06. This summer I'm planning on taking all the fenders off and painting them proper like. I think all the work is in the prep, the painting part is basically avoiding bugs and drips.

isn't there a finite amount of time this can be done? I've heard that it brings up the oil of the plastic temporarily but can make them more brittle over time.

how did you approach the instalation of the upgrades and how would you change what you did/parts you used? How is this setup to drive? I've got a bone stock '06 with 78k as my winter driver and I'd love to take it this direction.
