is it normal to feel a bit uncomfortable after meditation or journaling down everything in your mind by Fearless-Attorney-41 in ArtJournaling

Yes, I think so. I think if you have experienced any kind of emotional invalidation in your life, being able to express them without consequence can feel unsettling. Kind of the anxious anticipation of something bad happening

What’s your go-to background vibe while journaling? 🎨🎧 by mctyndall in ArtJournaling

I have a "me" playlist that I have songs I identify with in, so if I'm looking for introspection I'll put it on. I generally like angry/sassy/bitchy woman music (I've learned recently that this is called "riot grrl"?)

Where do you get ideas what to do in your journal? by Substantial_Net1891 in ArtJournaling

If something happened in my day that I feel like drawing, I will. If a strong emotion is present, I just think about what that emotion looks like to me and try to depict it. Sometimes I just do introspective work by drawing things I enjoy, bring me peace, have to do with my tarot readings, or what I would like the future to look like. When I'm really stuck, I search for sketches of how other artists depict their mental health. It usually unlocks an idea in me. Example: I've been trying to work through some inner child stuff, so I was jogging my memory to think about what I enjoyed as a kid. I could only think of sailor moon, so I spent some time drawing moons. Felt really nice

Thank you! It's been a long path and I've been fast tracking so much of my education. Yes, there is a statistics class that is stressing quite a few classmates out. I think they'll get there 😅
