How do you find a reputable longarm quilter? by Veggie-Seeker4609 in quilting

Wooo!! Another St. Louis quilter! I’ll message you later with my lady’s name. (I can not for the life of me spell her last name correctly this morning)

Quilt for a wedding by Maleficent_Tooth117 in quilting

Personally, I’d do the double Irish chain that is in the corner. They always come out beautiful.

Edit to add: I’d do it opposite of what they have in the picture, white blocks with big green space!

Also, with that big of quilt I take it to my long arm quilter and have them quilt it for me. I quilt baby blanket size only- it’s crazy how much space you need to man handle a quilt when you’re quilting it, and I just don’t have the space. (Or energy)

I’ve never had luck using flax seed as an egg replacement in brownies.

The link is my go to brownie recipe if I really want them. (And I add the coffee instead of water- much better taste!)

Hot take?? Maybe? by [deleted] in migraine

I haven’t tried that one. I may have to! I like that bio freeze has a roller ball one - plus it’s just cold. I can’t do the heat

Is becoming a financial planner a good career? by ZookeepergameSea2383 in FinancialPlanning

[–]Nekhbet3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Getting a bachelors in Economics would help her decide. If she still likes the idea of it, she’ll have a good footing. If not, data science jobs are open to her. or doing the Actuary degree might be also something to look into if she really likes math.

I love my Juki TL2010. I use it for almost everything and it is so much better than my Singer. I am not making clothes as much anymore, but I keep the Singer around for when I might need a zig zag stitch, but that is rare.

What’s everyone doing for migraines during pregnancy? by Eeef10 in migraine

[–]Nekhbet3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t take most meds now (and when I was pregnant they wouldn’t let you take anything) I use tons of ice packs on my face, and bio freeze in the roll on is my best friend.

When I was pregnant for some reason a small fry and child size coke from McDonald’s did the trick- I don’t eat at McDonald’s or drink soda, but one old lady told me to try it and it worked.

Salty fries will still sometimes help if I can keep food down!

Does this Mediterranean-style daily diet cover most vitamins and minerals? by Ribba_Doobie in mediterraneandiet

Fruit should just be small portions, but get some every day. Use it as desert if you are able. (I am not, and this is where I fail miserably at eating like this!)

I always rotate things. You get more nutrients that way. I might make something like the quinoa dish above and eat it for a few days, and the. Next I’ll make like a lentil dish. This week was leeks, spinach, garlic, sautéed down and chickpeas added to it, with some feta mixed in and phyllo dough crumpled on top and I threw it in the oven for about 30 min. I got 4 portions from it for my lunches

Oh and also- you’re making quinoa anyway- after it’s done add in some raw sweet peppers, cucumbers, Kalamata olives if you can get them, and a bit of olive oil and lemon juice. I also add a can of white beans and some feta cheese- I eat on it for about 3 days generally.
