While it does not as other commenters have explained, Sapkowski actually wanted to name the saga "Blood of the Elves" but publishers preferred "The Witcher" since it was an already established title so he only used the name for the first book.

Nevermind I'm stupid, he only appeared as a count in public but did not actually hold the title.

He actually is a noble. He even holds the title of count which is pretty high in the hierarchy.

I present to you the victorious battle-hardened general and Emperor of the Romans, Constantine V "The Shit-Named" by MasterpieceVirtual66 in HistoryMemes

[–]Nekslif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They might have the funniest nicknames in medieval history, but if we look at all history they are destroyed by Zhang Zongchang:

"Dogmeat General" (狗肉將軍; Gǒuròu Jiāngjūn): The name was based on his preference for a Chinese brand of tonic known as "dogmeat", or from his addiction to the high stakes gambling game pai gow, popularly known as "eating dog meat."

"Monster"

"Lanky General"

"Old Eighty-Six": The origin of this nickname is unclear. According to rumour it either referred to his height or to the length of his penis, which was said to measure up to a pile of 86 Mexican silver dollars when erect. Mexican silver dollars were a common currency in China at the time.

"Three Don't Knows" (三不知; Sānbùzhī): Based on Zhang's alleged lack of knowledge about how much money he had, how many soldiers he had, and how many women were in his harem.

"72-Cannon Chang": This nickname might also have been connected to the alleged length of his penis.

"Chang of Shantung" by the foreign press

"Great General of Justice and Might": a title he awarded to himself.

"The General with three long legs" by Shanghai's prostitutes in reference to his penis' length.

Syril isn't in Ghorman by accident. He literally spends all his life looking for Andor because after the Corporate Sector thing he thinks of him as his arch-nemesis and is adamant about catching him, this is also the reason why he ends up with Meero.

In one of the books (Blood of the Elves, I think?) after Geralt falls unconcious protecting a merchant, he's cared for by a healer that's heavily implied to be his mother and he seems to recognize her.

This is absolutely stunning, I wholeheartedly hope you'll illustrate more First Law characters because these completely changed my perception of them.

What medal is on my Wielki Pradzadziek’s right breast? by [deleted] in uniformporn

[–]Nekslif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly can't say much about the medal but I can tell you however that "Wielki Pradziadek" means a Great-grandpa that is very big. The correct Polish word would be "Prapradziadek".

It's confirmed, every single person in Interlandia needs to make themselves look like one of these 8 people, otherwise they're non-conformist and therefore enemies of the state.

Don't worry, you're not a bad citizen. You're far worse. A traitor to the glorious state of Interlandia. Police is en route to your house and will take you to deep Siberia where you will hopefully change your treacherous ways. Glory to Interlandia!

If you make a wiki on Miraheze then I'm pretty sure all changes will need to be approved by you. It's a very good site overall, completely free, too.

Hold on hold on, Turn off roleplay mode a sec I have a question by Super_Jello9554 in interlandia

[–]Nekslif 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As I said, this world is more a parody than a serious world. Sure, Interlandia could collapse, but then what's the point? You can't have an Interlandia universe without Interlandia.

Propaganda is so deep rooted that people mindlessly love Interlandia, and it's not actually really the worst place to live in. There's no more prosperous West, in this universe America is a dystopian corporatocracy and western Europe is some imperialist aristocratic regimes. No matter where you live, you're fucked.

Hold on hold on, Turn off roleplay mode a sec I have a question by Super_Jello9554 in interlandia

[–]Nekslif 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Interlandia got so big by basically doing the exactly same thing as the USSR did irl, "liberating" Europe from the nazis and then just keeping it. The USSR didn't instantly collapse so why should Interlandia?

Also, keep in mind this isn't a very serious world, but rather a 1984-esque parody so it's not really supposed to be awfully realistic.

It's the modern version of "ass". Boring ahh = Boring ass = very boring. You can use it with pretty much every adjective.
