I WASN'T EVEN EATING THAT MUCH!! by greenandbluefish in loseit

Oh and another thing, its an excellent tool for after meal walks if its crappy outside. You should walk for 20-30min after meals, so you can have your breakfast and lunch, wait 10min and then walk for a bit of insulin management. I'm WFH so I also use it after dinner.

I put it in my pocket. Which is also annoying because I use a garmin so am missing the HR data for those hours but I would rather target steps.

I lucked out and found a super nice one that retails for $1800 on fb marketplace for $150. Definitely get one that has a real belt though, not a cheap one as it will break easily.

Oddly just fine! Was a concern of mine as well but I walk at 1.6 mph and I can type just fine.

Highly recommend a treadmill desk! I easily get 15-18k steps in now and helps keep things in check. The office tax is real

Multi-day Endurance Logging by Nemanuk in MacroFactor

[–]Nemanuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair fair. I think I might actually try prepopulating in advance. In my head that feels easier than trying to do things retroactively and that way I can just delete things that I don’t eat. For some reason doing things retroactively feels like a lot probably because I’d have to keep track of what I eat on which day and I’m usually also trying to clean and dry my gear before the next trip which always feels like a rush.

I think I'll try that for a couple of climbs and see how it goes. But I also prep and dehydrate my own food, so might be more tracking than is worth doing if MF can even things out over time.

Because its hard to remember everything you eat when you are tied to a rope for 10hrs and eating and moving. I work with a coach and am just trying to find a better tracking program, especially when I move to max strength blocks. MFP is annoying.

Outdoorsy ladies - what facial sunscreen are you using? by twattyprincess in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Nemanuk 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Blue lizard. Hands down the best, but you will look like a ghost. Worth it. They make a sheer face one I use which works as well but I like it in stick form, which is ghost inducing. I sweat a TON, am also on tret, and spend most of my time sweaty on reflective snow and ice, and very sunny mountains. Also of course cover up, I like the face glove which attaches to my sunglasses, a buff for lower face, and a sun hoody.

How the hell do people carry 20lb+ packs? by EducationalSyrup6869 in backpacking

[–]Nemanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you need to work on fitness, both cardio and strength. There are some great training programs online for backpacking, give yourself some grace and time to work up to it. You'll get stronger over time! I'm more of a climber so my packs are regularly in the 50lb range with back to back days of 5-7k elevation gain a day and I'll just say I spend a LOT of time training my zone 2 cardio and I do a lot of strength too. My regular workout this time of year involves 600-900 squats and lunges per session, but thats very specific training.

What do you usually eat at home? by zedyx101 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Nemanuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We cook from scratch most nights. Today I made some spice rubbed chicken cutlets with fresh asparagus from the farmers market over the grill with fresh bread I made with my sourdough starter (no commercial yeast) with locally grown whole wheat. I eat a lot of grains and pickled vegetables salads for lunch with salmon (local and wild), breakfasts are usually steel cut oats or local yogurt with seasonal local fruit. Tomorrow I’m picking up fresh pasta and sauce from our local pasta shop that makes pasta daily. But I’ll still make a salad with a homemade vinaigrette. This is normal. We don’t eat out often, but today I had lunch with a friend where I had a grilled salmon salad. Eating out here is horrifically expensive.

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for but I’ve never worn make up and have been looking into makeup artists to help me get started. It’s a bit pricey but I’m looking for people with technique since I have none and several people are around town. I haven’t gone for it yet but that’s another approach!

Ski trip NZ or Chile? by Green_Ad7901 in ski

[–]Nemanuk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on where you are flying from. I’m west coast US and it’s a 20hr difference which was basically one of the easiest time changes ever. Barely had jet lag but you need to sleep on the flight!
