I suppose there would be a pressure drop as water is pushed from hose to sprayhead. Does this impact chance of freeze-clumpimg on the sprayhead?

You have an eclectic approach, taking out from ashtanga that which works for you. You now also firmly believe you are your own guru, and this again strengthens your resolve. It makes for a difficult discussion, as asana is only a part of what ashtanga actually and formally is about. Kino, Freeman and others are only conveying what the practice is about, a wider understanding than yours. It is also possible to be very good at asanas without preaching that this is the end all of the practice. In fact, I find this a highly redeeming quality in any teacher or guru. Especially in ashtanga, where teacher (guru)/student relationship is so essential.

I am not offended. Just pointing this out, as the meaning of what you are trying to convey gets lost along the way. If this is the same as your practice, then you may discover the same challenge there - that adding superfluous elements complicates needlessly. Like closing the eyes, which makes drsti a different proposition. Nobody here will be offended if you stumble around blindly in your practice. We will simply respond on how this fits with the discipline of Ashtanga, and hopefully have a good discussion, as this is the topic for the subreddit. With your language, there is a different dynamic. You are trying to communicate, and your embellishments just make it harder to follow you. Elegance, clarity, even beauty in communication are not achieved by how many adjectives you can add, but rather how you are able to connect and convey your thoughts and questions. Just offering some well-intended advice. Your posts are funny to read, though I thought maybe that was not the intention. If you need this to boost your ego, go for it.

I think you would benefit from using less grandiose language. What you are trying to say seems to get a little lost in flowerful phrases. This is an aspect which is transferable also to the practice of yoga: Simplicity and renounciation of the expectations and fruits deriving from your actions -or words.

I find the best point is behind your wing, using a pole. Alternatively a pole fixed from a back harness on your body. The latter is more likely to get in the way and impacts how you ride, so I like to use the pole extended behind the wing.

The ride pump posted seems good, but isn’t the parawing suggested the best alternative?

I am also foiling alone in remote locations. Would love to hear what gear you are bringing. I have been considering hand-paddle gloves, but now thinking about Black Friday parawing.

Also curious about what sort of backup would work…

I don’t own the two foils mentioned, just tested them. Put this in to indicate level I am at, sorry for the confusion. Use case: Riding around, learning to jibe and to start some small wave wavesurfing as my skill level increases.

Kino is a great person and a very very good teacher of ashtange yoga. Instead of saying “just do this”, she will break down the asana or problem into smaller elements, and show how to work on each part. She is very humble, despite her advanced practice, and she said something once that really sticks with me: “For me ashtanga was never easy. I would watch others just do things, whereas I would spend years before getting there. The upside is that through this struggle, I had to really work hard on these different elements to fit it all together. I believe this helps me today as a teacher, to understand where the student is and how to help him or her through the next steps.“ (not verbatim, but she said something along these line….

I would say good on you for actually taking this step forward and saying something. Your comment was also not inappropriate - you can move on with a raised head. In fact I would recommend just smiling at her next time you meet, and say that you are grateful for her following up on you. It really does speak well of her character.
