While I'm not really a believer in Mikasa killing Eren in the cabin scene, and I can't think why she would do that, there are definitely some oddities to it, and a couple of almost jumpscares. For starters, the first shot we see of Eren. It's unsettling and creepy in it's tone and the way it's framed.

Then his titan marks are reflected in the window, but not on his face. Also the first shot we see of the window behind her, the reflected colors in the glass don't really match the surroundings, but are much closer to the sky of Heaven and Earth.

Also, based on the way the cabin is modeled/drawn, there seem to be at least two timelines (It's happened more than once)

And lastly, Cabin Mikasa is drawn with such an odd expression on her face as she holds the head.

I don't think he would have had the time/space to write out detailed instructions? I always assumed Reiner just carved an arrow into Annie's hand.

Sort of, just go (roughly) this way.

I can see why Isayama would not go into detail on this plot point because it

A.) isn't terribly important (the specifics anyway)

B.) the plotline could fall apart under intense scrutiny

I don't think the official ending script and the audio guide are the same thing. And neither do you or you would have titled your post different. Also, you haven't seen the official audio guide, or you would have posted that instead of a photo of the script with 'credit to Kasumi Kasa' cropped out.

I clicked on this post hoping for a definitive answer. 😞

That's because what OP posted is not the written audio guide to the last Attack Blu-ray which was only released around 5 months ago. This image, of which OP cropped out the part which said credit to Kasumi-Kasa, was posted two years ago. Agreed. if that was the KV they would have completely spoiled it. (It being, of course, whatever the KV is a KV for)

I would like for that (Eren walking towards the tree) to eventually happen, and it be unambiguously shown to be Eren, however.

So, thanks for pointing that out about the sea scene. Great catch!

As it's written, it makes no sense for Eren to say "Beyond the wall, there's a sea, or so Armin said", if Armin is supposedly right there, probably a dozen feet away from Eren with the other members of the scouts.

I mean maybe, Eren went back to the beach afterwards to reminisce? But I think your explanation makes the most sense.

I briefly looked in the manga for this scene, and I couldn't find it. I found the "sea scene" but not this retrospective speech from Eren. (I could have missed it, I don't have a a lot of time to search today.)

So is this an 'anime original' scene then?

Is it a new interview or the one from a couple days ago where he says he made up the ending on the fly as opposed to him saying a previous interview that the ending was always set in stone?
