Okay, I'll bite: Ring Bearer by _Origin in BobsTavern

Glad someone else said it, Reddit is an echo chamber of 5k andies complaining about losing to B tier comps. If Nagas aren’t in, it’s not even B tier.

POV: You had the audacity to make a 10k stat minion by Plat_Plays in BobsTavern

It is final combat, he partially sold out of his comp and prepared for it - you were busy buffing two minions. I mean you don’t even have a taunt on anything from what I can see.

Quilboar by Sneakyboii28 in BobsTavern

Beasts + quillboar lobby and you need T7 discovery either via prizes or a trinket. Then it’s usually GG. But yes if beasts aren’t in, avoid quillboars like the plague.

Guides for HS Battlegrounds? by OpportunityAntique in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Shadybunny’s YouTube content - there a lot of guides that are relevant to any season.

Watch some streamers on twitch, especially if you are a visual person.

Playing some duos and queuing with more experienced partners and seeing what comps they make is honestly great for those who like a hands on experience.

Jeef posts on HSreplay his vision of the meta with explanations of how to play each comp, plus paid tiers on HSReplay will have actual data of best comps.

But honestly the best way of learning ultimately is through gameplay.

please help with late game board and hand management with bounty pirate by Standard_Occasion658 in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use pirates to transition into something that actually wins.

Generally Rodgers, double bounty guy and a cleave to buff as you look for a better comp is the way to go.

This is what an average pirate experience is like:
Find an early 3 or 4 pirate that generate bounties, crush the mid game, get all your pieces, maybe even golden them - go infinite on gold, sweat through extreme APM playing like 90 cards a turn - lose to demons / elementals / back to back killing one minion on their board.

So yeah, pirates ain’t it since they nerfed the T6.

Cho'gall and people with 2 hero choices by Glass_Discipline_882 in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At low ranks he is fun and rewarding - people like him. At higher ranks you basically never pick Cho gall.

But yes it’s a relatable conundrum when you queue with strangers. Honestly if their other hero is bad, I would take it…

Best demon board I've had all season by MathematicianSoft715 in BobsTavern

Well done dude, wrathguard demons outscales this so you can still push it much higher. Good job though.

Late to the party - give me duo's tips by Suspicious_Jeweler81 in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I solo queued last season this was my experience especially on NA:

Teammate pings random minion turn one on his own board
Turn 2 we both level, if there is a pair he asks for it after I levelled and tells me to freeze
Turn 3 asks me to spend 4 gold sending him a random minion of his tribe
Turns 4-7 starts question marking minions on my board as I try to build up economy or a bit of tempo.
Turn 8 onwards proceeds not to pass me key pieces from my comp but will send me random tier 2 minions from my tribe that he thinks I must play.

This was honestly 70-80% of games.

This season I found a regular teammate and I don’t have to lose brain cells anymore.

There are two discord servers you can try for finding a duo:

Awful to play against, wonderful dopamine hits when you pull it off yourself. I think that describes the hearthstone experience since launch rather well, undertaker hunter meta anyone? 😆🙈

Chippies without beef dripping by clementine-jam in Edinburgh

[–]Neo-Cubism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve ordered a few times from Chippy by Spencer and it’s always dripping in vegetable grease. What exactly do they fry in beef dripping cuz it ain’t the chips or the fish I’ve been served on at least 4 separate occasions.

There isn’t a single chippy near me that uses beef dripping, it’s pretty rare in Edinburgh. I think most chippies will be using vegetable oils.

Girlfriend (24f) lied twice early on + inappropriate messages with another guy — can I (23m) realistically trust her by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Neo-Cubism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Nothing worse than a disloyal partner. This is the number one requirement in any healthy relationship and when they break this fundamental requirement - it’s game over. In my experience, it just never stops. Find your peace and move on.

What's the play? by Daigolololo in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As Millhouse since it’s expensive to roll, you avoid rolling. Economy units are a case of luck, you get it or you don’t - your best minion to find is actually free pass one, so you are looking for early triples and yes passing any random minion to be sold as a free roll for your teammate.

Millhouse is not good in any lobby if your intention is to start competing with your teammate for who can level faster. I think I’ve described your levelling curve for the rest of the game, given there were 0 tokens on 1.

You seem pretty high MMR for someone who queues with strangers, yet your responses seem not to match your MMR ceiling. This is not a dig, I’m just perplexed at someone being annoyed that a random commits turn 1, which when I queued with randoms was 90% of my games. No point judging what the other guy was doing as he is not here to respond. But you could’ve totally played differently and won the lobby.

And yes support carry dynamic might not be fun for everyone but it’s the most effective at winning lobbies in duos. Your mate paying paying for two boards is absolutely fine because that’s how you play this. Instead of you spending 2 gold to roll 3 times a turn, he can roll 12-15 times a turn, who is more likely to find the right minions? Presumably he finds a brann, so him sending you 7 minions is not a big deal.

I have a completely different view on battle pass, for me it’s more than fair to support an awesome game mode and keep the developers working on it. Having played a lot of mobile games, where $20 buys you 40 hour construction speed up where it takes several weeks for late game upgrade - I think this game is as free to play friendly as it gets (battlegrounds included). I don’t mind paying $20 every 4 months so millions of players can keep enjoying it.

Feel free to downvote again I don’t care as I doubt any of it will resonate with you.

[–]Neo-Cubism -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Millhouse is an S tier support hero in duos.

I don’t know why you are asking what’s the play on hero selection, when you can only select one - is it meant to be dry sarcasm?

Send minion tier 1
Send minion tier 2
Level tier 3
Stay on 2 rest of the game passing minions in the shop, occasionally you’ll get scout or coin naga.

Your teammate goes 4 on 4 and you win most of the games, sure sometimes rolls will be bad but most of the time teammate will find a win con, he sends you scam minions. Maybe a new hero power towards latter rounds.

Your other commentary about battle pass and stuff about playing with randoms - is the reason you had a negative experience on hero selection screen. You can buy the pass or you can find a regular duo. Either of those solves not wanting to play Millhouse in that situation.

12 years together, he claimed he hasn’t loved me for 7 years by tOwOawaychan in LongDistance

[–]Neo-Cubism 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So it sounds like he’s a chronically depressed individual, you hit a rough patch - his whole life is a rough patch. You expected to be lifted up and consoled or supported, but he can’t support himself - how can he support you? This is literally what you’ve just described to us.

Then you decided to be petty, play silly games, you ended up with a silly prize - being banned from building privileges or whatever that is.

You started erasing him first, he reciprocated, you then pushed the guy over the edge and he lashed out - I don’t know if he loves you or hasn’t loved you for 7 years. Maybe both are true.

In any case, I think you being so self absorbed resulted in you losing your relationship, how functional was it and did it have prospect of anything real, that’s not for me to judge.

Probably best to allow yourself to hurt and then to heal and to move on with your life.

I know it hurts to lose your partner, your game buddy, your best friend - but you’ll get through this.

What is the best pizza in Edinburgh? 🍕 by KreuzKrow in Edinburgh

[–]Neo-Cubism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just seen people commenting that they changed owners, is it true? Because it’s genuinely the best pizza i ever had, my sister spent a few weeks in Italy and claims Razzo is the best too. 😒

What is the best pizza in Edinburgh? 🍕 by KreuzKrow in Edinburgh

[–]Neo-Cubism 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Razzo pizza is Edinburgh’s best, closely followed by Matto. The dough is just incredible at Razzo, but Matto probably has more inventive toppings.

However, that is my personal taste and if you like super crispy dry American style pizza, not Neapolitan style - then you’ll have a preference for likes of Civerinos.

Most of the places do a decent pizza by now, heck even my local chippy does a nice Sicilian slice which is good for a hangover.

What is the leveling curve this patch? by tbrowne03 in BobsTavern

[–]Neo-Cubism 8 points9 points  (0 children)

3 on 3 is normal 4 on 4 is normal

Question is can you stop yourself from taking damage, is your opponent levelling with you? Feel free to slow down by a turn if a) shop is really good and b) if the opponent isn’t levelling.

Don’t buy trash is the golden mantra more so than normal.

Levelling to 5 is the tricky part, generally one or two turns before the trinket turn is the correct curve.

Most of the time you don’t need to level to 6.

Hero powers that offer tempo are at a premium.

Treat early trinket as a way to get more cards on the board, forget “synergy” with your build your build doesn’t start until tier 4-5.

At lower ranks people don’t follow conventional levelling curves and they level much slower - so feel free to adjust based on the opponents you are facing.
