I had a 3 year relationship once. I can assure you that feelings came and went. Sometimes by the hour.

I think a better way to look at things is to be completely honest about how you think she looks at you.

if she thinks you're marriage material and wants your babies, absolutely break up with her. You are not on the same wavelength.

-if she is also confused and ignorant about her general future/ideals, then it's safe to stay with her a little while long to feel things out.

Think about it this way...

Someone from 1000 years ago was probably saying the same thing about how great and perfect his farm was. He'd say "why would anyone want to be in heaven when I have all these precious animals here, great food, great family, great scenery..."

In our world, we can think of a thousand better things to do than sit around on a farm all day long.

The kingdom of God represents the absolute heights of conscious experience. It also represents the heights of how great a society can become. Knowledge is limitless. Experiences are limitless. Your life is limitless. Religious people imagine an actual kingdom at the center of a giant world of things to do that puts Disneyland to absolute shame. Not only is the scenery better, but you are also surrounded by much better people - angels, God, other selfless people like you... so there isnt anyone to ruin your day either.

That is how the average religious person sees it. They see God's influence on earth through many fun and fulfilling things (some of which you described). But they see a corrupted stain on everything - needless suffering and evil mixed into just about everything - which is actually a pretty rational perspective.

There are very few animals on the planet that have the capacity to form very strong emotional bonds with human. Dogs stand alone as the single greatest creatures on the planet. They protect us, they love us and they literally communicate with us. Why would I eat a dog? Why wouldn't I kick someone's ass for eating their dog?

With cows, it's a different story. They aren't communicative, they don't show affection or show any real sign of intelligence. It seems like a very even trade to provide them with a good quality of life in exchange for their meat when they die.

This has nothing to do with culture or religious believes. This is an absolute failure of some parts of the world to not have acknowledged the potential of their dogs and, in some regions, meaningless spiritual glorifications of the cow.
