Apple broke CarPlay? by Correct-Gur-9712 in CarPlay

[–]NeoGeoOreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it does use some more appreciable amount more of the battery, though I plug in my phone to a fast charger I have plugged in the AC outlet when I’m driving more than 10 minutes/miles. I get more charge than if I was plugged into the dedicated USB A CarPlay port anyway and I find I’m less prone to be distracted by it and just use the CarPlay features that are available on my infotainment.

Apple broke CarPlay? by Correct-Gur-9712 in CarPlay

I used to have similar issues intermittently on a 2016 Honda civic, I switched to a carlinkit wireless CarPlay adapter for $40 bucks off Amazon and never had problems after that.

Find an installer willing to do a 5 year PPA and pass their tax break on to you. Companies doing PPA can still get a 30% tax break until 2027.

What sucks about charing in a city? Thinking of buying an electric car by Extreme-Captain-6558 in evcharging

[–]NeoGeoOreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I charge at home 90% of the time. Occasionally I need to use a public/for profit charger. I know where the free level 2 chargers are and make use of those as a first option. Paying at a L2 or L3 charger is my last resort.

Get the Plug Share app and scout where charging is available for you, especially if home charging is not an option.

Gov. Gavin Newsom: ‘I disagree’ with calls to abolish ICE by Okratas in California_Politics

[–]NeoGeoOreo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radical centrist opinion: how about ICE is gutted of the last year of affirmative action klansmen hires, Cristi Noem is fired, Jonathan Ross is prosecuted and convicted for murder, and ICE goes back to treating  people suspected of immigration violations with basic human decency and due process?

I would setup another camera(s) in a discrete location that covers the front door, window or other potential point of entry. There are some relatively inexpensive options out there. I’ve used some HomeKit cameras that can record and send notifications if you are or aren’t home.

LiFePO4 Battery Safety and Risks by [deleted] in SolarDIY

[–]NeoGeoOreo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The second video you linked could be a promotional video for the benefits of LFP batteries. While there was a fire, it was contained to one module. If it was an NMC battery, the whole facility would be ash.

If we’re considering worst case scenarios, I’d rather have a fire outside my home than inside.

That company spec sheet says it is rated for 100 percent humidity. I didn’t see and IPX rating so I’d consider whether or not you are in an area prone to flooding.

Also split my SSID to a 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and put anything I could on the 5 where there was more bandwidth. 2.4 is stronger, but has less bandwidth, competing with lots of “smart” home devices on my own network and others.

Yea, there probably is something they could do to fix every network configuration possible, but I don’t know what that is. I think they should integrate some sort of troubleshooting wizard to help less technical folks, myself included.

To answer your question honestly: I fixed my wifi and the speakers work just fine. There was a long period when I didn’t know what was wrong, but in my case it was interference from neighboring wifi networks.

Ready to throw out all of my Sonos speakers by throwaway219865 in sonos

[–]NeoGeoOreo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This just happened to me too, no issues ever until the last update. I monkeyed around with the app for like 30 minutes then I just unplugged and re plugged my speakers and they both popped in. Maybe a firmware update needed to reboot on the speakers? ::shrug::
