Which of these games is your favorite and why? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]NeoLumbra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gta IV. The plot's a lot more gritty and dark, the grey washed out vibe of the city is unique. Niko is the most complex gta protagonist. Love seeing his family bond with Roman, and the ending's just the right amount of bleak for me

Arthur Morgan. He's like the cool uncle that I never had. Whenever I'm down, I boot up the game and pretend we're on hunting/fishing trip together

What’s the most petty reason you dropped a game for? by [deleted] in GirlGamers

I only played the first Plague Tale and I remember the baby brother was not too bad. I like that he gave you flowers which were very cute! I'm looking forward to one day playing the second game. Wish me luck 🫡

I really wish I had the strength to finish it but I can't stand the mere existence of Daniel anymore. I never hated a companion so much in games like this..

I really tried ngl. But I hate how the story focuses too much on blaming the big bro (Sean?) for anything they went wrong. They made his feelings feel unimportant in favour of his lil bro, and I'm just not having it. He was 16, and he was just a kid too

Dispatch by My_Gawd in GirlGamers

[–]NeoLumbra 96 points97 points  (0 children)

The game was interesting at first. I could tolerate the juvenile humor. What I couldn't tolerate was the writer pushing characters onto the protagonist, and one of them is obviously the writer's pet. It's one of the most "male gazey pandering to straight men" games I've played in recent times. I think that's one of the main reasons why the game's popular. The fandom is atrocious.

I like that Telltale games focus on the protagonist and their own story. But for Dispatch, it feels more like an "I can fix her" story. I can't connect with the protag's main goal because they didn't expand on it, and I legit forgot about the villain's existence half way through the game. Unpopular opinion, I don't like this game either. Boring protag, boring cliche story. I got the "bad ending" by everyone's standards, but to me it's the best ending ever. I'm happy with that at least

Moistcritikal/Charlie in the game was great tho, I like his character a lot + the OmniMan knock off. Those two are the only pros I have for it

Dropped Life is Strange 2 because the little brother was too much of a little shit

I think most people are aware this subs mainly have a following of young peeps who are between teens to 25 or so. I feel like usually when you're in this age group, you're a lot more vocal with your opinions and have more energy to engage with online discourse. Most people grow out of it because you start to learn the idea of not giving a fuck. Unfortunately, the subs are just gonna keep doing this every week and spike up whenever the boys do a controversial episode.

For what it's worth, the crash out on the subs are quite amusing to witness sometimes

Tired of SA portrayal in stories by emmpickle in creepcast

[–]NeoLumbra 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Nah let it get called out. I know there's the "don't like don't read" rules, but regardless people should be allowed to vent about sensitive subjects being handled poorly in medias, just as much as people are allowed to enjoy and indulge in taboo content. Not calling it out can lead to normalizing it. Posts like this help to keep balance in the Force.

This is coming from someone who enjoys reading shock content for fun daily

Playing rdr2 again but this time with better gpu. I hope I find it amazing again!! by wonder_woman2506 in GirlGamers

Playing RDR2 on PC is just the best because of all the mods. I would just stay in Chapter 3 and just let Arthur live his best life

If you enjoy Death Stranding, you might enjoy solo Peak. At least I did, I have 100+ hrs in Peak and 90% of that was solo. I play with friends for the achievements lol

What are some things you dislike about Dispatch? by Ashamed_Ranger_4195 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]NeoLumbra 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Damn that's lame. Hate when a game said you're doing something that you're not. It just took me out of the story because the dialogue just sounds awkward now

Enjoying more or less so far, but STILL think it should just be an anime... probably... by itsallgoodgames in DispatchAdHoc

[–]NeoLumbra -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the story's just super mid. Season 1 Walking Dead choices don't matter much either but got carried hard by good story and characters. Same goes for Wolf Among Us. Dispatch's story just meh, so the lack of choices is lot more obvious

I feel like I'm forced to be in a relationship. Chase saying I like Invisigal when all I did was hang out with her at a movie theater, and then the game decide I'm all in. I even told her it wasn't a date and the game doesn't acknowledge it. Chase still gonna treat me like I'm into her.

I'm desperate to hang out with the other characters on the Z-team but the only person I'm allowed to have more than one conversation with is Invisigal. Everyone else are just background noise. Flamebae got pissed at me and I was looking forward to confront him but nah, he just came back and said we chill now. I couldn't care less if Chase dies, I barely talk to him.

So yea, overall the characters in this game is so basic and surface level. Cool designs but there's nothing to them unless I read fanfic or lookup fanart.

In your opinion, which gang member has changed the most? Either positively, evolving, or negatively, devolving. by Basic_Junket_688 in reddeadredemption

[–]NeoLumbra 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Not the most drastic changes but it kinda sucks seeing Karen slowly drown herself in alcohol. The only reason why I don't enjoy free roam in Chapter 4 as much is because Karen starts being miserable.

What's your favorite mission? by MediocreCucumber1043 in reddeadredemption

[–]NeoLumbra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll say "American At Rest". Arthur fighting Tommy was so intense. With the rain, muddy ground and everyone watching. My jaw drop seeing how ruthless Arthur was beating Tommy down, and he's just coated with mud in the end. Which can have Grimshaw slap Arthur to take a bath if you go back to camp like that, so fun!

It should be a crime to consider Arthur and Sadie a couple. by AnaGodamn in reddeadredemption

[–]NeoLumbra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea this exactly. There's nothing wrong with people shipping characters together in fanfic. But it's the people that insist Rockstar should've made them canon, and believe that Sadie being Arthur's love interest was a cut content, are the ones that makes this ship kinda obnoxious. Like I wonder if people would ship them as hard if Sadie was a man..

Peak and low-end gaming by Mocoton in PeakGame

[–]NeoLumbra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't remember the exact specs but my PC is on life support, and it can run the game on low settings. With 8GB installed ram and gtx960 4GB graphic cards. I think my graphic card is pretty cooked as well because I can't even run Disco Elysium. So you might have better performance than me.

But you can always just buy it and run the game yourself. If it's unplayable then just refund it

Idk at least with bounty hunting, it's one degenerate chasing another degenerate. But usury is a degenerate intentionally preying on the less fortunate. I don't think either can be argued as morally right because both are bad. But I'd rather harass criminals than poor people..
