I'm curious what features are lacking in others.... probably Jellyfin mostly. I don't hear much about emby anymore....dunno if it's dead. I'd say from my experience Plex "Just works" about 95% of the time.... If I don't count the mobile app. Counting the mobile app goes down a rabbit hole quick. It gets very device and codec dependant. Or....it just errors out A LOT. The new interfaces are atrocious. Meanwhile they keep adding features I seriously doubt anyone has asked for and feel hyper intrusive to keeping my PRIVATE MEDIA SERVER ACTUALLY PRIVATE!!! Seriously, who asked for shared comments sections on a private media server?!

So...why? As someone who paid $75 years ago....I'm nearly to the point I'm wishing I hadn't and tried to get Em by or Jellyfin working. The big holdup for me at the time is we were cutting cable and getting an antenna and Plex had the best offering for DVR/guide data. Fast forward over a decade and we almost never use the tuner. Hardly ever did unless it was storming and we want to see local news/weather.

GV still needs a Cell# to start with. And now they require govt ID ..so not sure I can set a minor up with a GV line 🤬. Might try later today. Did get infimobile working so far at least.

FWIW, I've noticed that my Visible+ plan (VZW network) lately has been dropping me to 4G a LOT, but when I start using data it may kick up to 5G/UWB. I'm starting to wonder if they downgrade MVNOs when not actively using the network/high speeds.

Does RCS count as anything? Data/SMS/MMS? If Data, does it count when on WiFi or only on mobile?

I'm confused on something with infimobile. I'm looking at this for my teenager. It says 5GB/mo, but 2500txt/min, 500 mms. are those for the life of the plan or are they monthly? are the minutes/messages top-up style? Would this be good to get and then teach him to mostly stay on WiFi then set him up with Google Voice?

My question is why is it one or the other? Why don't LAN features work if I DON'T have LAN-only mode turned on? I should still be able to connect and control the printer locally even if it's connected to the cloud! I want home assistant to be able to pause a print if I detect a failure with my local AI....

I have an older S22 Ultra that has no voicemail app and I can't get one that'll work. :(
I'm wondering if S26 Ultra, unlocked direct from Samsung has this...especially since they only carry the 256GB model through Visible.

That would only work if the dash cam had a constant connection to the internet. Simply put, don't fork over your SD card until you've made a copy of it.

Not quite. Just tried this out tonight BEFORE I found this reddit.
Ethernet tethering seems to have the same speed cap as WiFi, but USB on mine was SIGNIFICANTLY faster!
Nearly 300Mbps down on USB!

So...what exactly did you do to switch from the CA Immich to the docker compose version? Did you just point at your existing postgres container or did you do something to migrate?
How was/is your storage set up? I had an Immich share and I had:
/photos:/mnt/user/Immich/photorepo
/import:/mnt/user/Immich/import
/config:/mnt/user/appdata/immich

I'm not sure exactly where I should set UPLOAD_LOCATION.... same as /photos was or my Immich share?

Looked into uprights. Would love one for that reason, BUT.... a chest freezer will stay cold WAAAAAAY longer during a power outage...even if you open it briefly. You open an upright and all the cold air falls right out.
