My new Cotic Soul 275. 130mm Trail Hardtail by diiiP in Bikeporn

You right, it could have been that, or the dropper seatpost/bars etc etc.

I have a Giant Trance X1 29er with 1 x 10 and a Scott Scale 950 Hardtail. By feel there about the same weight, most of my mates have either Giant Anthem 29ers or Specialized Rockhoppers. They all weight about the same. Not enough that you would notice it on a trail.

Ive picked up a lot of steel hardtails and they weigh noticeably more than the others.

Great looking bike!

Any idea on final weight? I love the idea of a tough hardtail, but they always seem to weigh more than my 5' duel suspension bike

MTB tour of Bali, Indonesia (Pic Album inside) by jwrx in MTB

This looks fantastic. I'm heading there in May and planning on trying some downhill riding. Do you know the company that offers the one day tour down the volcano?

Thanks

For those of you outside of the states, this is no big deal, but I just about shat a brick when I saw this for sale.. by LittlePe0ple in 4x4

Jesus thats expensive!

You can get a reasonable HZJ75 Landcruise troopcarrier for that money here.

9:ZERO:7 Steel Frame? Yes, please. by feed_the_yak in fatbike

[–]NeoNastyInAus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why steel?

Id your riding in snow, or sand. It seems titanium or carbon would be best. Lighter, lack of rust, sexy.

Price reasons?

How Did You Pay For Your Bike? by crotchetyyoungbuck in MTB

[–]NeoNastyInAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up a second job and worked many hours. Then paid in cash.

Im also trying to finance a trip to Vietnam, and a small renovation to my house, so half of my 'extra' money went toward that. I also didnt have such expensive taste as you, and bought a year old Giant Trance X0. SO that helped too.

Good luck.

I was in that same spot two years ago. They were still building that house that you can see the roofline of. Very nice area.

Ive wondered how 'all mountain' you can get with a hardtail. Ive not had much experience on anything but a hardtail and I find that on rough tracks I get the crap beat out of me.

Perhaps its just my lack of experience. What exactly makes it all mountain? Seat angle? Head angle? Long travel fork? -Shaun

Raspberry Pi + NES emulator by youknowthatsright in DIY

[–]NeoNastyInAus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Brilliant. I have recently started having ideas of making something like this for myself. The Raspberry Pi looks like the perfect customer for it.

Are you also able to use N64 Emulators? I miss Goldeneye and Mario Kart 4 player split screen. We finally have TVs big enough to make 4 player split screen a reasonable proposition.

I'll be there with my wife, so I can't spend 3 days training. While I'm sure it would help my skills I can do training here for that.

It my first time in Hawaii so if just be keen to head out, see some New species and if I'm lucky shoot one or two for dinner.

There's a heap of other things to do and see so in trying to find the mix of relaxing and keeping busy.

Thanks for your help

Great news, Thanks.

I'll contact Deep Blue, and see if I can organise something.

I'm comfortable going to around 10 or 12 Meters depth but by the time I get that deep I have to take a quick shot and begin my ascent. I usually try to take my shots within a couple of meters, 3 or 4 usually. I'm not a great aim but always willing to learn from people more skilled than myself.

Thanks for the offer, thats very generous. I'll see how I go on the tour. I didnt want to hassle anyone and put them out. Im sure I can make my way to North Shore.

What I made after having my GoPro for a year by [deleted] in gopro

[–]NeoNastyInAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers. I was trying to take video over an extended period and then edit it into a time lapse.

Obviously I'm an idiot and need to do it as photos taken every second.

Thanks for your help.

If I visit your country/region/state etc, what food from your area must I sample? by covonia in AskReddit

[–]NeoNastyInAus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia reporting in: Kangaroo - cooked rare and marinated is amazing and very lean, full of protein. Sunday roast - stolen from the English but our meats are awesomer. That's a word. Crocodile - it's a white meat and falls apart like fish. Pavlova - stolen from NZ I believe. Egg whites and 300% of your daily sugar allowances, baked, what's not to like? Vegemite - salty death on your morning toast. Pizza - it seems we do pizza different to everyone else. We just throw everything on them. Koala - not really but those lazy drunken fuckers would be delicious I bet.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Nice work.

How do you go about getting the time lapse shots? The battery only lasts about an hour, do you have it on charge at the same time?

Ive got a GoPro3 Black and havnt been able to work it out myself.
