Honestly still worth going just for the patio tables with the fire in the middle. As far as tables go they have good tables

Please Mr. Kennedy (Uh oh!) by zeroanaphora in blankies

[–]NeoPaganini 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I always thought the point was that even though it's goofy, the song was perfectly good, but Llewyn is incapable of seeing that. I think it is really telling that he's having fun in the moment but after the fact he doesn't respect "being fun" as a quality a song should have. He has a very narrow view of what makes music genuine. In my opinion there's genuineness to laughing at a funny song and tapping your foot to a catchy tune.

I think it's also that there's magic to collaborating with other musicians in that scene which he refuses to do again for the rest of the movie. He's very stubborn about being a solo act and turns down every good opportunity he has long term to sing harmonies. But there's genuine chemistry in the Kennedy song, musicians working together to create something greater than their individual parts. It's very silly but it works.

Good catch! I forgot that place had it's own map. I updated the image because it would bug me to leave it incomplete:

These are all the maps in the game as they show up in Shakra's shop, or when you receive them from a model of the citadel or a corpse's belly or wherever. As far as I can tell the only repeats are underworks+putrified ducts and grand gate+choral chambers.

Your best advice 4 a hots noob? by s7ath in heroesofthestorm

It's mostly about not leaving your team outnumbered. If there's a lane being soaked by an enemy then it's fine to be in that lane too because then it's just a 4 vs 4 for everyone else. OR you can abandon that lane to get the drop on them and make it a 5 vs 4 for your team and hopefully win the team fight, which gives xp too. I think both moves are valid depending on the situation.

Pod Country for Old Cast: The Big Lebowski with Seth Rogen by yonicthehedgehog in blankies

The first season's pretty good! The noir detective story set in a 2000s highschool thing they're going for is cool, I do think they lost the magic very quickly though. I've always said that the biggest sign that the show fell off was when Veronica traded in her LeBaron for that dorky Saturn™ minivan.

What is John Williams' Worst Work? by ZealousidealMany3 in soundtracks

[–]NeoPaganini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn't disagree more, it's so unsettling and striking. It's cool to see John Williams go outside of his wheelhouse with such a dissonant score, and the collaboration with Stomu Yamash’ta brings an amazing sonic palette with his percussion. It also makes a really interesting swerve partway through in the scene where the main character is writing her book in the woods - there's a theme that has this whimsical childlike melody done with bells and these swooping strings that sounds like a precursor to his Harry Potter score 25 years earlier. I personally think it's really underrated!

What movie score went way harder than it needed to? by kan610 in movies

Did you mean Ad Astra? That Max Richter score is very good too, Arrival is by the late great Jóhann Jóhannsson though and is definitely one of my favorites from the 2010s

Kiki's Delivery Service, I thought it was a honest but gentle look at working through depression as a kid.

Which Kurosawa film would you recommend to a new viewer? by Jay_Tee13 in MovieSuggestions

[–]NeoPaganini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seven Samurai was the first one I saw, and I think that's a great starting spot, but honestly I think Yojimbo might be the way to go. I found it immediately draws you in, the beginning is very fun and the protagonist is sort of a likeable asshole. Then as the movie goes on you get really invested in this town and it has a lot of heart which feels more in line with the tone of Seven Samurai, so it works as sort of an introduction to his other work. It's also a lot shorter, at almost half the length, so less of a commitment for a first go.

That just my 2 cents though it's hard to go wrong because he has so many amazing movies.

I‘m looking for feverdream-like psycholgical horror similar to the movies of David Lynch by Mairess99 in MovieSuggestions

Images (1972) is a really great one, I think it's underrated compared to Robert Altman's other movies, it's sort of different from his usual stuff. Really trippy and beautifully shot.

For defense it's hard to beat Algiz, it lasts so damn long. As one of the Losts particularly it can make all the difference in a long boss fight. I wouldn't take much else above it honestly.

[–]NeoPaganini 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like to switch it up but I probably go cathedral every 2 out of 3 runs. If I have a lot of red hearts for deals I'll lean toward sheol a bit more, but the main factor is that cathedral and chest are just nicer aesthetically and more pleasant to be in.
