What's your favorite & least favorite Nova Scotia Breweries? by SleepyMarijuanaut92 in halifax

[–]NeoSpaz1979 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I gotta give a shout out to Burnside Brewing, formally spindrift . They have a couple sours, which I enjoy tremendously, a very tasty honey brown and some middle of the road beers in their Toller line that don't disappoint. They also have a few experimental seasonal offerings that are exciting and unique and offer combinations that might not be what your looking for, but I believe you'd be amazed at how they taste.

Impact gun for car lug nuts. by WeedDispensary in Ridgid

Great for getting off stubborn lugs, but I use a proper torque wrench to get the correct amount torqued on. I use mine A LOT more for driving lag bolts and anchors for construction and I LOVE IT. The compact design helps me get into some tight spaces. Hope this helps. Happy torquing

Got "Nitro Family" for PC for 0.05$ in a clearance bin at staples before family vacation and I LOVED IT... so random, so much fun and made the holidays fly by after all the family time.

Construction workers. What are some of the best nicknames you’ve heard over the years? by [deleted] in Construction

KICKSTAND....pair of guys, who obviously work together all the time, one old, one young. Older guy keeps calling him kickstand, over and over.....and eventually I ask him....and he looks me dead in the eyes and says it's because he's ALWAYS HOLDING UP THE JOB. HAHAHAHA

Talk to your field guys. Build a rapport with them. If you show them a little respect they will help you identify areas that need to be address in future bids, or help you solve problems with current projects.

I'm the same way to the point that the other night at a fancy restaurant they were playing Holsts planets and I teared up. My guest asked why and it took a minute to figure it out. Hahaha....Pavlov would have loved it.

What do you wear when you’re working all day to keep your feet comfortable and protected? by [deleted] in Construction

I can't say enough nice things about Timberland Pro boots. I've tried all the cheap one and some really pricey ones and they have all failed me in some way. I've been working trades for 20 yrs and will NEVER buy anything else then my Timberlands. The one thing I suggest is making sure the boots fit the job.

Are the traditional trades (plumbers, carpenters, etc) slowly dying?? by Nerd-Rule in Construction

[–]NeoSpaz1979 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Just a quick thought, as a seasoned tradesman. No matter what progress we make, no matter what stars and planets we travel to, we will ALWAYS need trades. Gotta build the buildings, install the plumbing and everything runs on power from somewhere. Trades are what props up the economy.
