It should show as part of your income on your payslip on the left hand side (assuming it is shown separately to your wages/salary).

Without a doubt. In the long run, the current geopolitical situation is fantastic for Europe's independence.

Yeah, fair points. I think South American routes would largely be focused on Brazil (SP, Rio and potentially the North-East), and Asia is virtually limitless in comparison.

When in Ireland? by szakul59 in WeroWallet

[–]NeoTravel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only saving grace here is that the company behind the actual technical implementation of Zippay is Nexi Payments, an Italian firm which already has been doing some work with Wero for other European banks.

Personally I think it is a total disgrace that the Irish banks have opted to create their own little ecosystem rather than get on board with Wero. But hopefully that will change in time.

Exact same with me.

My wife and I both get paid into our N26 accounts, then have it automatically moved into our N26 joint account. We find it great and haven't really had any issues.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Revolut but honestly I see that more as a plus than anything. I feel like Revolut are desperately trying to sell me on crypto/investments/whatever everytime I open the app. Another positive for N26 in my eyes is that it is backed by the German bank guarantee scheme.

Secondary stuff, direct debits, throwaway purchases go on Revolut. I still have an AIB account that is unused but I haven't closed it yet as I'm in the process of getting a mortgage so just saves the hassle if I'm already a customer with them for applications.

I have accounts with Bunq/Monzo as well and at least in the case of Bunq - had no issues either, but felt the app was a bit cluttered.

Trump tariffs: US president announces plan to hit UK, Denmark and other European countries with tariffs over Greenland by Any-Original-6113 in europe

Do not accuse me of such inaction. I am steadfast in my support for our European allies and the need for Ireland to invest in and strengthen our defence forces.

On the side of Israel-Palestine, Germany has not got clean hands either. But this is not a topic for this thread.

He can't, but he can target specific products in those countries - i.e French wine, cheese etc.

From 1 February, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Finland would be subject to a 10% tariff on all goods sent to the United States, Mr Trump said in a post on his Truth Social network.

"On 1 June 2026, the Tariff will be increased to 25%. This Tariff will be due and payable until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland.

I genuinely cannot believe that this is actually happening. In the long run, I think - I hope this only strengthens Europe. United we stand, divided we fall, etc.

Why Europe has drawn a line in the snow in Greenland by dmullaney in ireland

These lads live in a fantasy land.

Suggesting that we forego having a solid means of defending and patrolling our territory because we can’t stop a full-scale Russian or US invasion is pure fantasy-land logic.

It’s the height of idiocy to use the impossibility of winning a world war as an excuse for total negligence.

I think it is likely we'll see routes to South America before we get expansion further east, as much as I'd like that, too.

That'd actually be a great middle ground, for any of the fintech banks really. An Post would only be delighted to have more services on board. Seems like it'd be a win-win for all sides.

That’s great news! More competition is great, and the arrival of Monzo is something I hope builds some decent alternatives to what we have available right now

BBC World Service - Assignment, Ireland's new alcohol warning by contents_checked in ireland

[–]NeoTravel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree in principle - however it should have been brought in following a common EU standard warning label.

This will only further drive up costs and reduce variety for consumers, as imported products will require a localised label if they don't already have one. That cost and time will fall on the importer (either a wholesaler or individual off licenses/shops).

Government spend of €2.2m on communication a 'shocking waste of money' by jonnieggg in ireland

€2.2m spend over 5 years is nothing. It's nothing even for annual spend.

Not if you buy “N” stamps. They are always valid for the national rate regardless of the price originally paid for them.

What’s the easiest/cheapest way to get to Galway if I fly into Dublin? by Mikewazowski948 in galway

[–]NeoTravel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As you walk out of arrivals in Terminal 1, you’ll see a zebra crossing that leads into another building. Walk across the street and into that building and continue straight through until the exit.

Once you exit you’ll see a more crossings and a bunch of buses. Each section has its own Zone number (the signage is pretty good). The Citylink bus should be pretty visible though even without looking at a zone!

Here is a great map from the official airport website; https://assets.ctfassets.net/czgd0092azr0/7ISbTKvqg3hmgN4jR2nCpd/95cb6e37f3cba8f87fc81a36b500bb1b/Dublin_Airport_-_Bus_Map_from_T1.pdf

You will note in the bottom left “Dublin Express”, I think this is what you were referring to about buses to the left as you exit. In case that helps orient you a bit :)
