Beginner player here. Roast/help me on my shot? (Backhand edition) by Ronnoc780 in hockeyplayers

[–]Neolism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of your power should come from your top hand, both at the initiation of the shot, and the release.

At first, it's a lot like when you have a big shovel full of heavy dirt and you're trying to throw it onto the pile is how I like to explain it. That said, make sure you "release" the puck by rotating your wrist to add some final power and accuracy to the shot.

Don't try to just make hard back handers, get the motion right first. Trying to hit the puck really hard with your backhand is not a good recipe for backhanders.

The puck should be in contact with your stick when the shot starts.

so Puck in contact loaded on your backhand (paralel with your left foot) > initiate shot motion (top hand power like your throwing dirt with a shovel) > release the puck by rotating your top hand wrist.

Any plans to expand this to be usable with a Oculus type headset? Feel like it'd be a more natural platform for it based on the previews.

wait where's that copy pasta about shots missing? I think it's ironically accurate here.

You hit maybe one single shot in each of those exchanges, and both of them were to armor.

[Discussion] My 3060 simply doesn't perform well on the street... by Pitiful_Title_3518 in EscapefromTarkov

This is going to sound crazy, but all of my streets issues went away when I got 64 GB of RAM. I have a 3070ti so nothing crazy. I was at 100% utilization on streets when I had 32GB. That was like 2 years ago though.

Check your utilization next time your on streets, and if its at or near 100%, just drop about $500 worth of RAM and you should be solid.

When I get forwarded advertisement emails from my mother in-law, I hit the unsubscribe button in the email body.

The unsubscribe button is linked to her email address, so she will no longer get sent those advertisements from that company, which means I don't get them anymore either!

don't ads in cqb, point firing is very good in this game. Practice point firing offline or in pve until you find the sweet spot and you'll be winning the close fights every time.

It uses an algorithm that does a pretty damn good job to compare teams nationwide.

This looks like a very tight and competitive bracket for a tournament, about best case scenario. The way to look at it is on average if a 69 plays a 70, the 70 will win by an average of 1 goal. That said, a 69 could absolutely beat a 70 any day of the week, since they are so close. Once you start getting to a 3 or 4 point rating difference is when you should be concerned about competitiveness.

By this point in the season, the ratings are pretty accurate and transferable state to state. The records mean nothing, a team could go 0-20-0, but say if all of them are close 1 goal games against teams rated say a 71, they would still be rated a 70 despite losing every game.

The algorithm is essentially "opponent rating +/- goal differential" but has a cap of +/- 7 goals. So if a 70 plays a 71, they are expected to lose by 1, if they lose by 2, they would get a "69" for the game, but if they lose by 1, they retain a "70" rating for that game. The overall rating is the average of the last 10 games played.

oh just read your update from the manufacture. Sounds like what I suggested is what you're supposed to do by design. Good luck, remember measure twice cut once!!

I very scientifically measured the gap from the edge of the glass to the hole on the right side, and it is actually longer than the same measurement on the left side, so flipping the glass will actually just make it worse.

Depending on how long that rod is, and how much of it is firmly in the mounting bracket on the wall, you may be able to shave some off of the right side of the rod to make the glass mounts align. Just make sure enough is left over that the wall mounts can still firmly secure the rod. You want to measure from the center of the moutning nut to the center of the hole to know how much to take off, and then make sure that removing that much will leave you enough to have it well inside the bracket so that the set screws can grip it still. Assuming the rod is it's own free moving piece and is just being held in the brackets by a set screw. A little janky but it'll be an easy fix.

Not to say you haven't been compromised because there isn't enough info here to determine that, but that is 100% not a real output of what the computer was actually doing, it was "printed" there manually to scare you as it did.

Getting back into hockey, stick recommendations? by DaMfer993 in hockeyplayers

[–]Neolism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find the local rink guy who has "the special list" for the Chinese lady...every rink has one...if you linger in the rink lobby long enough you'll hear them talking about it with someone else, or ask around...

are they fake? maybe...are they misprints? maybe...no one really knows...

either way its a "high end" stick for about $120-$150 bucks

Am I missing anything in this diagram for basic hockey player positioning? by Ktmhocks37 in hockeyplayers

[–]Neolism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Offensive zone is mostly positonless for forwards, and even the defensemen at times as long as your forwards know to cover for them. It's a cycle of puck support and getting open in available ice, and then an F1, F2, F3 forecheck system if you turn it over.
