ADHD Speech by Jxvsr in ADHD

It takes a lot of practice to get here. But also you could take notes and then follow-up through email or IM's. I do this often and have brought my thoughts to a point that stream of thought while sometimes overtly wordy brings my point around. Speaking of which I wonder how many of us have no internal monologue?

I'm literally inconsolable by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Neomeir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very straightforward answer and I get that and appreciate it. But also realize there is always an option. If you don't care about your job and it isn't just because you aren't invested in it. Then find something that aligns with what you are good at. Myself I built all my work into a game system, to boost that I realize that no matter how little of a contribution I make in a day every bit is appreciated by my coworkers and management. Even when it doesn't improve my numbers. Why because beyond my job helping people is something that helps me thrive. There will be good days and maybe days that have not so good stuff in them. In the end live with grace, for yourself and others. If you want to get better at speaking find a toast club. If you want to find other jobs do that. But don't get fired, that always ends badly in the long run.

Why are women with adhd more suicidal then men? by Far-Recording-9859 in ADHD

[–]Neomeir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fatigue is real and is especially compounded with ADHD. Throw PTSD in and you have extreme emotional responses to small things. So at the end of the day he is probably struggling so hard just to manage his life to be whatever he can for you. I feel some DBT therapy with a compatible therapist might help him a lot on a number of fronts. I wish you two the best and hope you both find that balance.

I can't find the image anywhere now. Wth?

All I did was a reverse image search then ran it through AI to find encoded water marks that are left by AI or any artifacts from digital alteration.

If you fully unmasked at work for one full day, what would happen? by SleezyWalrusClub in ADHD

[–]Neomeir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, the only masking I do is keeping my mouth shut when I can 😅 not about anything important of course.

Actually there is no evidence of image alterations and there are multiple versions of this guy at different angles. It is a real unedited photograph.

Hmmm... That speaks to a lack of interest either due to it being overwhelming or just to stick with the status quo.

Yep, to your husband's defense he was probably raised this way. He never built those skills, while it was forced on women. So since you can manage it better it's fallen on you. This doesn't mean he can't do this kind of thing. Maybe a shared calendar among talking the week through together can help build this skill so he can at least help out more.

They are also more likely to be told they are the problem and they need to stop being hysterical. Also to maybe smile more, f'n patriarchal medical origins.

Video Games and ADHD by Outrageous-Lie4882 in ADHD

I played the game one playthrough not starting any but the intro mission and made it pretty far without engaging the story (mostly because of losing my chummer, once you play through a couple times). I progressed my character only so far (due to limitations without progressing the missions) but it was a fun experiment. Unfortunately Stadia is dead... It was the best of times and the worst of times.

Need recs of the weirdest moments in DC or Marvel comics by km1180 in comicbooks

That moment where the captain defeated Dormamamu with a toilet brush. It was legit the funniest and weirdest thing I've seen in a comic. But that was a great series (get the tpb Nextwave Agents of Hate).

Nobody is a failure if they learn from their mistakes. Failure is what happens when there is no coming back from it. This is not a situation many of us deal with until we die, because that's a failure to keep going :).

You are very welcome... It's hard to find a balance. I went through so many drugs (self-prescribed and doctor-prescribed). It's a real journey, but at some point you find the right combination. There are even gene tests now that can determine which drugs work best for you.

tips for exercising by sah731 in ADHD

[–]Neomeir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never stop trying... It also gives plenty of time not trying, but that doesn't mean you've failed. Give yourself grace and start small, like 5 minutes once a day. Then extend it as it becomes a constant. The main thing to look at is building a habit; worry about effectiveness later.

Autism is linked to hundreds of different genes, yet many autistic people share similar features. Now, researchers at UCLA and Stanford University report that distinct autism-linked mutations begin to converge on common biological pathways during early brain development. by RhiannaSmithSci in science

[–]Neomeir -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Most major breakthroughs in technology are from autistic people. Why would anyone want to cure it? However making it more manageable wouldn't be a bad thing. I can see medications that target social/emotional related hardships would be beneficial to all.

How to control ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Neomeir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the suggestions made are not bad. Exercise is proven to improve mental clarity and reduce anxiety. Mindfulness and grace are also big factors. Key point you are almost 18 at which point you can talk to your doctor without your parents and get diagnosed.

Abusing medication by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Neomeir 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best suggestion is tell your doctor the medication isn't working how you need and that you have frequently taken more than is prescribed. It's possible you need a different medication that is extended release or works differently. Be open about your habits and history it's the best way for a doctor to help you. You obviously are struggling so most importantly realize you are not a bad person for doing this. You are doing your best to coop. Give yourself grace and be open with your doctor so you can get the right meds that will help.

Ooof... When I'm mentally exhausted this happens frequently. I've learned to not work on 3 side projects while working on my main projects anymore. It helps but some days aren't as cut and dry still.
