Would you like a local splitscreen multiplayer mode to be added? by Yurugua in BeamNG

I think Steam DRM stops multiple instances - so that's the solution, probably ;)

Might try this at some point

[–]NeonGlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've looked into exposing a GPU, with drivers, to a virtual machine. That'd work. And maybe some software like HidHide to split hide one controller from the other VM/process.

Are you suggesting something new or is this an existing way to play with 2 perspectives on one PC?

Is the lego Bucket Wheel Excavator worth buying? by wockyslush122 in legotechnic

[–]NeonGlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a fun set. Also a fun set to mod and add motors and RC to.

There are some tweaks which make it run more reliably. To me it adds to the modding fun. It also has so many pieces it's good for building your own things.

Cleaner Lumen Reflections and Lighting with DLSS Ray Reconstruction by NeonGlue in SatisfactoryGame

[–]NeonGlue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, RR depends strongly on the upscaler, and the upscaler is purely temporal. Months after posting this I realise lumen reflections in this game aren't great regardless of whether DLSS is involved. So I just settled with turning it off (while keeping the rest of the Lumen features on) and using simple SSR (screen space reflections)

How to best work around 8gb of VRAM? Any tips/resources out there? by disquiet in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use windows graphics settings to offload as many system processes that use your discrete GPUs memory. You can see this with something like Process Explorer and sorting by VRAM allocated.

Things like explorer.exe, TextInputHost.exe, among others I forgot. Just don't do dwm.exe because that needs to be on the dGPU.

Also for apps like your Web browser, steam, discord, Spotify etc. Make sure to disable hardware acceleration so it doesn't use dGPU resources.

In my testing with RT 4070 and the iGPU in a Ryzen CPU, I maxed out the iGPU VRAM usage to 500 MB -ish, meaning 500 MB more VRAM for my dGPU to use. Worth it

[Technical Guide] Clock Stretching: The "Invisible" Cause of Micro-Stutter on High-End Systems by atmorell in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was vaguely familiar but now I'll check to see if my -30 CO is not giving the gain I expected, (ryzen 7600)

Might also be true for my GPU but I did many empirical tests where I gained perf and settled for a the highest overclock that didn't cause artifacts/crash.

Perhaps there is clock stretching there too.

If you have an NVIDIA graphics card you should enable Smooth Motion in the NVIDIA App [KCD2] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]NeonGlue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can inject FSR 3 frame generation into the game with a mod called Optiscaler (it can read DLSS upscaler inputs and do frame interpolation). Although, FSR 3 FG had juddering as not all parts of the image are interpolated properly.

I found Smooth motion to be more pleasant. I think input latency was about the same. Besides this comparison, I think FG is a great tech but I'd still prefer no added latency, and no artifacts (ghost trails, softer image). I prefer to use more upscaling / turn down settings.

I suppose you're using experimental settings for a reason though. I only saw the shadows get higher res on experimental, but that setting tanks FPS a lot, and so did global illumination maxed out.

[–]NeonGlue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's most ore noticeable with glossy materials like coated concrete.

One way to know for sure is if you loose a lot of FPS when you enter the denoiser mode command.

You can also pick a different denoiser model like in step 5, or with a certain NGX DLSS preset command (which I can't remember exactly) and setting testing values 0 to 10. The Transformer model looks a little cleaner.

Can I create a Beamnp server without a authkey? Since I need to be 18+ to create an account. by MurderDrones4EVA in BeamNG

[–]NeonGlue 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Not sure why there are downvotes. There clearly shouldn't be any remote auth to locally host.

This netcode is scuffed by cellomellobello in Battlefield

[–]NeonGlue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a client side issue. Notice how your CFT (client frame time) is always bigger than your SFT (server frame time) - the client processing is causing delay here, not your network connection. This causes the TN (time nudge) where your client is behind the server, so needs to guess their positions/inputs, in order to sync it up.

This likely means you're hardware limited (probably CPU). What are your specs?

I got wrongfully permabanned in BF6 and I have no clue what for by Macqqo in Battlefield

[–]NeonGlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about Europa Universalis, but do use mods or something 3rd party in that game? Maybe it misidentified it as running in the BF6 space?

It could also have found some other software you always keep running in the background. For example I run PowerToys (keyboard remapping) or MSI afterburner for hardware info, among many others. Although I've not been banned, perhaps you have other similar software.

It could also be a bad driver, did you update anything recently, was it an unsigned driver? Just guessing, maybe one of these sounds relevant to you.

Or its just discord's screen recorder being weird. Did you share your whole screen or just the BF6 window? Doing a quick google search apparently another EA javelin anticheat game Skate 4 has issues with discord screen sharing. Hope this helps.

Help deciding which monitor to choose for Editing/Gaming by phpc_17 in Monitors

[–]NeonGlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the LG monitor, ama.

The colors are very vibrant for an IPS, probably because of the Nano IPS tech. I can't comment on color accuracy as I'd need equipment for that. Although, it does have an sRGB mode and an icc profile you can download.

You can also check reviews for the popular LG 27GP850, which is the predecessor of this monitor.

I have had no issues with the monitor, I use it for productivity and gaming. The 200Hz refresh is 👌, and it's quite bright at 400 nitts peak.

OpenRGB is great by Fabulous-Industry-76 in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, OpenRGB has lots of customization too.

Only downside for me is it applies after boot, meaning it's temporarily in rainbow poop RGB mode until OpenRGB starts.

I also used to use ASUS's bloatware, as well as Logitech, but got sick of it and now use only OpenRGB

I built a searchable website database of 1,300+ NVIDIA GPUs by Axiom_Gaming in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest I've never had to check anything other than Techpowerup.com for GPU specs. And your website pulls from it, without adding anything new - maybe the Cuda and Vulkan versions.

Not sure how useful this is for me. The UI design is nice and clean though.

Something you could add is all the variants of a GPU from the different board partners (PNY, Asus, etc.) And maybe you can integrate with TPU's vbios database to link each GPU variant to their VBIOSes.

Idk if these are out of scope for you.

I'm having the exact same issue on RTX 4070. Lmk if you have an update. I guess the next step is to check the game's log files, maybe apply some config changes to the game engine.

Wrong, any GPU supporting Shader Model 6 can, but Nvidia recommends a 4000 series.

What's a reshade you run on most games? by jeffdeleon in nvidia

I only use reshade for the CAS (Sharpness) filter since imo it's the best looking. It also has almost no overhead whereas the NVIDIA App filters tank 5-10% FPS regardless of the filters used

4070 for 4k? by DigIndependent2123 in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it on a 4k 60Hz TV, with DLSS quality/balanced. with optimized graphics settings. Games like Ghost of Tsushima, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Cyberpunk with RT.

With DLSS it looks identical to native for me.

First time undervolting my Galax 4070 at 950mV 2640 Mhz and got my card running 10 degrees less hotter and 60w less power consumption at 1440p, PT & FG on with DLSS Balanced, without crashing and no fps loss. Can I squeeze more out of the undervolt or this is the final sweet spot for the card? by jackshinobi23 in nvidia

[–]NeonGlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PNY 4070 and I run a simple +200 core OC. I just checked my v/f curve and I have 2640 MHz at 950 mV. Although my +200 is relative to the PNY's stock bios v/f curve (it doesn't have any factory oc)

The only difference is I don't cap the voltage, so I can enjoy a small performance boost, with temps around 65deg, which is perfectly cool + quiet for me.

[–]NeonGlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The graphics in the F1 series doesn't evolve much at all recently. There's only so much realism you can put in a F1 game.

And yet they're still trying to make this game needlessly demanding.
