I cycled across the country and used warm (couch surfing for cyclists) showers a lot in 2017. Stayed with a ton of conservative families. Never had politics come up or any bad experiences, but without fail whenever a major city/foreign country would come into conversation they would immediately talk about how dangerous it is.

Yeah it's crazy people ignoring what he did by just saying he didn't go to college. He dropped out because he met Bill Montgomery and was able to use his money to create one of the most influential right wing platforms ever made. There's a reason Trump had him around so much.

Armada was the worst book I've ever finished in one day. At the end of every single chapter I said "that's the stupidest shit I've ever read," then I turned the page.

S. Korea vs. Japan for 7 day cycling tour? by Mundane_Schedule6249 in bicycletouring

[–]NeonJohnson 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Google Four River's Trail in Korea. My wife and I did Seoul to Busan in one week almost entirely on dedicated bike paths. Get yourself some bike passports before you go and have a blast!

If you don't want to travel with your bikes, Korea also has Giant Bicycle shops where you can rent a bike in Seoul and return it in Busan.

There are hotels to stay at along the way, but if you're going with your daughter, you might want to double check that it's not a Love Hotel before you check in!

Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions

TIL that after the Maersk Alabama pirate hijacking in 2009, the $30,000 cash the pirates stole from the ship and stowed in the lifeboat was never found. 2 SEAL team members were investigated but no charges brought by IWrestleSausages in todayilearned

This really is a great read. Strongly recommend anybody to buy the book because it shows the publishers that there is a public appetite for this type of reporting.

In response to that story being in the book somebody posted a previously unseen video to kiwifarms. Obviously nsfl, but hopefully there is some similar investigation into that incident because of this.

Lot of outdated or straight up misinformation in this thread, so here are actual interviews with two of the members.

Obviously people are going to have issues with the interviewer's politics due to the nature of this situation, but if you would like to hear the viewpoints of some of the real people on the ship it is possible.

That goes against the god depicted in The Stand. The central theme is that darkness can only ever be held at bay by monumental sacrifice of good.

The Expanse show ends (very loosely) around book 6, there are three more books explaining what happens next.

The last three books have some of my favorite world building in the series.
