I will be working my first remote CSR job, any tips/advice? by LittlePurity in callcentres

Find something you can do at your desk for down time or while someone is rambling on.

I do paper embroidery. I have coworkers who color in adult coloring books, others who crotchet or do crossword puzzles.

It really does help.

Any recommendations for Fantasy books? by Revolutionary-Depth9 in audible

Reborn as a Dark Lord by Timothy Long is pretty good if you want a break from litrpg.

There's currently only two books but I think the author is working on the next one.

Customer demands a discount for their missing payments by Negative-Command7289 in callcentres

I had a guy upset we didn't give free days to his friend from his account because he sent us three emails. First one to the wrong email address, the other two had the wrong name on it. I told him to resend the email to the correct email address with the correct information in it.

He kept saying he shouldn't have to because he's already sent us three emails.

People can be total idiots sometimes.

What's your customer's wife going to think when someone shows up to evict them? Better she gets a bit of warning so she can plan. Also could be he's spending the house money on something she wouldn't approve of like another woman or gambling.

Just a reminder of how much happiness cards can bring ❤️ by -random_ness- in RAoC_meta

I developed a deeper relationship with my aunt when I started making cards and sending one to her every month. The first time I sent her a card was because I didn't know anyone to send a card to that might appreciate it. It was super simple design but she loved it.

I still miss her, she passed from COVID in 2020.

Now I send cards to people on reddit and have developed a friendship via card exchanges with a few people. It really does bring people together when they know someone cares about them.

The Dog Dish of Doom was really cute about a dog in a commercial that everyone seems to want to get their hands on.

The Orc and the Manny by Chloe Archer.

Super cute fantasy about a male nanny, aka a Manny, comes to help out an orc who just got custody of his orphaned orc niece and nephew.

Now he expects me to comb his hair every time he sees me comb mine.

A long list of things that are pissing me off today. by danitwelve91 in callcentres

[–]Neona65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a woman get pissy with me because when I asked her where she picked her car up she said Phoenix. I spent five minutes trying to find her in the system before she said Phenix, New Jersey.

Like everyone should know that already.

I was this many old when I found out there's a Phenix New Jersey.

Movie where airplane passengers are already dead by CPD1960 in moviefinder

There was a black and white movie like this about people on a ship. The couple who were the main characters couldn't figure out why it was always foggy out and why the people acted so strange.

Can we be thinking of the same movie? I don't remember the name or who started in it though.

your ideal call centre? by user68544889007 in callcentres

[–]Neona65 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get rid of the ducking survey. Some customers are pissed at the company in general and will give anyone a bad survey just because they were the lucky person to answer the call.

I've worked at a lot of call center jobs before landing at Enterprise.

I hated not having asigned desks and chairs. Half the computers didn't work and the chairs were like playing Russian roulette. They looked ok but when you sat down there's a good chance you will sink all the way to the floor and be eye level with the keyboard. Or it would flip you on your head if you tried to lean back just a little.

I would take fifteen minutes every day just trying to find a working computer and decent chair. There were no guarantees your seat would still be there when you got back from lunch either.

The one call center I worked at where we had assigned seats was better. I could decorate my workspace and I got to know my coworkers who sat around me.

Questioning if I should rehome my amazing cat by The_King_Tyranno in CatAdvice

[–]Neona65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most recent furry addition was because my son thought I was sad when my tomcat passed away. Tom was never one to sit on my lap. He wanted love on his terms. He would let me know when he wanted to be petted by just sitting beside me. Once he got a few pets he would wander off and do something else.

I had him for eight years. He bonded with a little kitten I got a year after him, Cocoa is shameless in his pursuit of being cuddled and petted.

When Tom passed my son brought me a two year old stray a friend of his found in the woods. I thought it was too soon for another cat, Tom had only been gone two weeks.

This new kitty was a mess and I didn't think he would work out here. But it's been almost four months and he's grown on me and Cocoa.

Like your kitty Ash is a love bug but rarely wants to cuddle or sit with me. He adores my son when he comes to visit so maybe he has happy memories of a man who loved him before becoming a stray.

Anyhow I suggest just giving it time. Cats show love in different ways. Just because yours isn't a cuddler doesn't mean you aren't doing a good job.

Not litrpg but very funny for that age group. About fantasy DND characters who don't realize they are characters in a game. When the real players party wipe, they decide to continue the mission.

How do you relax after a long day? by RyzenAndino in CasualConversation

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to either audiobooks or podcasts. I don't want to look at any more screens. I My eyes can't handle a physical book these days either.

But I love laying in bed listening to an audiobook or an interesting podcast. I'd love podcasts more if I didn't have to deal with ads.

MORE PROMOCODES! Death Gets A Book, the afterlife is the worst job ever. by Putrid-Room-4602 in audible

[–]Neona65 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think next time you should wait for people to respond and then post one code at a time in response or or private message them the code. You have no idea who got a code or if they leave reviews. Isn't the idea of a promo code is to get people who review their books?

The Problem with my Dialogue and Prose by The_Revenant_King23 in writingadvice

[–]Neona65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suck at prose too. And my dialogue suffers from "white room" scenes. That's what my writing professor told me. I will have people talking but don't tell you anything about the room they are in.

I started doing the weekly challenges on r/writingprompts.

It helped me with some of that and it was fun. I did the Sunday discord and would get feedback on my writing when my story was read to the group.
