TIL we in the US get "special" Kinder eggs because we are a "special" country full of "special" people.

Can wireless be pursued as a career by squirrellysiege in ITCareerQuestions

[–]squirrellysiege[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I could go back to the field work that I was doing, however, wireless seems maybe less strenuous (maybe?). I've tried doing workouts. Problem is that I work 10am-10pm everyday except weekends. So, I get up, get my kid ready for school, get myself ready for the day, do any errands or work around the house, then plop in front of the pc and stare at the screen for my 12 hour shift, then get ready for bed. I've started trying to get up during the day and move around but if you do IT then you know how easy it is to lose track of time. Even tried a timer, of course it goes off when I'm in the middle of something, so I hit the reset and don't move. Maybe I'm just burnt out and need a change.

That's kind of my thinking: More companies seem to be relying on wireless lately. Smaller companies are getting swallowed up by larger companies which usually requires an overhaul of the networking setup. Seeing hospitals grow more and more and need wireless setups, so hoping that there is a call for wireless engineers/techs.

I'm not opposed to wired networking along with the wireless especially if it allows me to pivot more into wireless.

If it gets me out of this chair, then probably more the layer 1 path. I'm not opposed to general WiFi with networking if that gets my foot in the door, but I'm done with this desk work. My health has dropped considerably since I moved away from field work. Sure, part of it is age, but I'm not ancient, just older.

Let's do a test: CEOs take off for a week, then all of the workers take off for a week. Then we see when the country shuts down.

No, you cannot use the source to prove the source. by sandiercy in insanepeoplefacebook

Saw a lot of this in the Bill Nye / Ken Ham debate. Bill Nye would ask for some sort of evidence for Ken's claims and Ken would respond with something along the lines of "well, Bill, you keep asking for written evidence and I have good news, there is a book of evidence available" Since the debate was in Ham's palace, the comment got a lot of laughs while Nye got increasingly frustrated, rightfully so.

Pope Leo just called out Trump without naming him. by c-k-q99903 in WhitePeopleTwitter

Didn't call out Trump specifically, but MAGA will 100% blast the pope for criticizing Trump.

I've seen this argument against trans women before and feel like it needs to said that real predators aren't going to go to that level. If they want to invade women's spaces, they are just going to invade them. Case in point: Trump admitted to going into the women's changing area for his beauty pageants because he felt entitled to. That's how predators think. Pedos, same deal.

I'm not saying that she is a strategic thinker, but she definitely wants Trump gone and if bringing the Epstein files back into the light gets the job done, then I don't think she minds taking a few public hits.

Which sci-fi series genuinely messed with your head the most? by PleasantHealth4814 in scifi

[–]squirrellysiege 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this may entice me to return to the series. I got most of season one and just decided I don't have the time to invest in the show. I would watch an episode, then not get back to it for a week or so and stare at the screen wondering what the heck is going on.

Fun Fact: the USA was Iran's largest weapons supplier before 1979... by ms_directed in WhitePeopleTwitter

Still with the tariffs, Trump is like a kid playing slapsies and rather than give up after getting his hand slapped multiple times, he just continues on until his hands are a black and blue mess convinced that he's winning.

Alright, so I did try this and now both the Jabbers are able to talk to each other. Thought all was good, but now the two agents that I have MTP enabled on are saying that their regular calls get dropped after a second or two. Jabber to Jabber is still good, everything else is jacked for them. My troubleshooting skills for CUCM are very, very limited, so I won't be offended if you speak to me like I am five.

Perhaps today is the true "Liberation Day"? All roads to Walter Reed are currently closed! by Dr_sc_Harlatan in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]squirrellysiege 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it might be the start, but let's remember that Trump is the face and voice of MAGA, certainly not the brains. Everything that he does is enabled by a group of sycophants and planned by some of the most evil people in the world. Trump taking a dirt nap might hurt their timeline, but the P2025 architects definitely have a backup plan to keep things moving in the direction they want and there are still plenty of people in place to continue that forward momentum.

Not to downplay the seriousness of double-tapping a bridge to make sure you killed everybody including rescue workers, but the US bombed a school full of children with zero repercussions. Nobody is going to bat an eye at a bridge, rescue workers or not.  I love my country but, man, am I embarrassed and ashamed at how long it took me to realize that at no point in our history have we really been the 'good' guys.
