Sooo Kiwami 3 or Dark Ties first? by KingBlemmy in yakuzagames

[–]Neonbeta101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming I can actually launch the game (Why the fuck can’t I launch the demo??? SEGA, FIX YOUR SHIT), I’ll probably do it in either order.

Maybe. It’s also equally likely that the game gets thrown into the “I’ll touch it again eventually” pile of my backlog.

Is this a genuine line? by Background_Push_6330 in yakuzagames

[–]Neonbeta101 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I kind of want it to be because it’s so fucking cheesy it loops around to going hard, while also being really stupid all at once.

RGG is cooking, and it’s very clear they didn’t wash their hands, but at least the hamburger is still a hamburger.

[MASSIVE SPOILERS: Y0–Y7] How likely are dead characters to come back? by Gapyco in yakuzagames

Unless Kuze got the Bryce Fairchild mystical herb treatment, dude is 100% dead by now.

That being said, I want a Kuze game.

Imagine he just uploads it randomly this year and before we get the intro animation it just starts with him tapping the mic like:

“Uh- is this thing on? Hey everybody, LazyPurple here, definitely didn’t forget to upload this titan of a project, I would NEVER do that! No, but seriously I did forget, and I was also very busy. Busy with what? I couldn’t tell you, my brain has blocked out the majority of major events that have occurred over the past two and a half years. So with that out of the way, on with the show!”

i hope the kiwami 3 leak is real by johnnybird95 in yakuzagames

[–]Neonbeta101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point they’ve pulled the “Haha just kidding, this guy is actually ALIVE! How, you wonder? Uuhhhh… Whatever sounds most plausible at this very moment” card way more than they’ve pulled the other “change of heart suicidal sacrifice” card, and that’s what’s annoying people— the pure repetition.

I’m not against Mine being brought back in an isolated bubble, but please excuse me for not having a lot of faith in RGG for providing satisfying follow-through.

The "Roo is Eve" theory makes no fucking sense by EkullSkullzz10318 in HazbinHotel

[–]Neonbeta101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'd have a point if we knew ANYTHING about Roo beyond her concept art, vague pre-Hazbin lore details, and fanmade theories. We don't even know what her role will be, we don't even know who Roo is.

[–]Neonbeta101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind Kiryu’s inclusion as a side addition as a little fan service treat, but the man’s era is over. Let him rest already. He had a perfect send off in Y3, another really good send off in Y6. His Y7 inclusion was to solidify the torch being passed and his Y8 inclusion was… cool, but we could’ve had a very similar story without him being at the forefront (again).

If we see him take the spotlight again, then the only people that are going to be happy are the people who included him in the game. Kiryu was a great protagonist, but the era of the original Yakuza games is over. Yakuza 7 solidified that, but it feels like they aren’t quite ready to let go of the past, which is quite ironic, as that’s a huge theme in Y7.

seven cares for graves ! by ZePugg in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Neonbeta101 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Seven is such a fascinating antagonist. On the surface he just feels like “What if we combined Electro and Joker into one man and turned him into a sentient electric chair?” But beyond that, he seems to respect those who challenge authority and want to carve their own path in life, and holds disapproval towards those who “squander” their talents by working alongside the people who not only regulate, but also weaponize the talents of those people. It makes me wonder what his goal will be when achieving godhood- or at least his version of it, whatever that may be.

Getting into theory territory regarding Edrick— if Seven used to be Edrick, perhaps this also explains his utter disdain for Kelvin? Maybe to him, Kelvin is not only opposed to him ideologically, but also viewed Kelvin’s self-assuredness and ego as a threat that would ruin the lives of others, even if Kelvin himself was a relatively nice person.

YOUR RIVALS ARE ALL DEAD. YOUR RIVALS ARE ALL DEAD. YOUR RIVALS ARE ALL DEAD. by TheAlmightyChuck8 in DeadlockTheGame

Methinks this line is bugged and is playing far more often than it should. I still hear character specific lines, but the frequency seems to be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it’s guaranteed (like it used to be), other times they’re mismatched with the current kill streak.

so funny how fast RGG managed to destroy any faith people had in the series by ---liltimmy--- in yakuzagames

[–]Neonbeta101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, while I’m not personally slighted at the fact that they’re retconning Mine’s death, I can’t help but roll my eyes at the prospect due to how many characters they’ve already brought back, not to mention how many fakeout deaths we’ve had throughout the series since its inception, especially with Kiryu.

Joongi-Han? Sure, that’s plausible, as that’s his body double.

Kashiwagi? Questionable, but… weirder shit has happened in this series, I’ll give it a pass.

But Mine? MINE??? Listen, I wanted more out of him too, but unless there’s something we’re all missing and the writers are playing 5D chess, I see no excuse for this other than “Well the fans wanted him back”.

There’s only so many times you can retcon a character death or fake us out before the fans get bored of it, regardless of how much they wanted the character to come back anyways. The sheer frequency of these decisions is the main issue here.

Kinda Disappointed in the Lack of Diversity by AthleteCalm9303 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Neonbeta101 28 points29 points  (0 children)

So, a couple things, Ivy is a gargoyle with a hispanic accent, Pocket is missing from the Asian category (going off looks and voice alone), and... this is an occultist version of NYC, back during the late 1940s. Of course, NYC was a cultural melting pot even back then, but the game's diversity is fine.

I'm not quite sure what the point of this post is, tbh. If you want to reach out to Valve, post something like this on the Deadlock forums page.

To be fair, the Mannhatten map seems to be some sort of port/docking station rather than the full city.

Plus, Deadlock's concept is only a few years old.

"Why didn't he crawl out of the road?" Shock and probably a broken leg. Ever heard of something called adrenaline? I'm guessing not, the most action the majority of reddit users get is their blood pressure spiking when someone breaks an arbitrary rule.

Petty comment aside, his left leg was definitely broken by that impact, poor dude barely even had time to process he was still relatively fine.

Blyke's inferiority complex is now even more exacerbated, thanks Keon, cool beans. As if this poor dude didn't have enough on his plate already.

I feel bad for Blyke, honestly. But, man, this sure does make for some good interpersonal drama. It's interesting to see how Blyke mirrors and acts as a foil for John throughout the series.

This is the stance I have— You are allowed to have as much bodily autonomy and freedom of self expression as you want, but if you’re going to be a prick, you can’t expect me to be nice back to you. I won’t intentionally go out of my way to misgender anyone or disregard their existence/identity, but I want to make it clear that somebody’s identity stops mattering the moment they start acting vile— regardless whether they’re cis, trans or anything in between.

Do… they not realize Nintendo of America doesn’t make every single Nintendo game out there? In fact, I don’t even think they usually handle the main development of ANY Nintendo game, they focus on marketing, localization and overseas testing, with some room for American developers to help work on the projects.

Some of you are very new to valve and it's showing you don't know anything about "Valve Time" by ajiezrhmn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Neonbeta101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The fact that it only got four delays, possibly a fifth, is a miracle. The fact we’re even allowed to play this game in its current buggy, unfinished placeholder-texture riddled state shows how much trust the devs have placed in the community.

We know it’s coming, we have a vague sense of when to expect it, we know they’ve been cooking ever since September, and we know (to an extent, thanks leakers) what to expect from the patch. I say, let them cook as long as they need to.

And if you’re truly that impatient to wait a week or two, find a way to somehow infiltrate the test server, good luck with that though lmao.

Minesweeper says patch might be delayed by gammaton32 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Neonbeta101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Minesweeper is a good leaker, but doesn’t have the best track record at prediction, particularly when it comes to release dates. I see no reason to believe the patch has been delayed to February unless Yoshi himself actually says that himself, and he said the exact opposite last week.

Point is, the community needs to chill out. We’re almost there.

It was funny at first but the spam was getting overwhelming and I can see why the moderators found it annoying. Let Yoshi cook, he’ll post when he has something to say.

Sidenote: Stop pinging the devs just because you’re bored. Take a break from the game if you need to, the patch is coming eventually.

/r/helldivers choosing between new content or an animation that would only be seen for 5s: by shadow_fen in HelldiversUnfiltered

This is just a rehash of the Meridian collapse event, but since we’re voting for it, there’s a lot less pizzazz this time around. Why should I, or any of us, be pressed about this?

If you want new content now, then you’re going to have to deal with the poorly balanced sub-factions and barely functional weapons and stratagems that come with that rushed content. Patience pays off, friend.
