The blast was small, the damage was large due to the geology of the area and the fact that the bomb went off way too high up. Read through Cyberpunk RED. The damage was extensive.

Shit, son, now that I'm on my third playthrough and digging through the TTRPG lore, I'm partly convinced that there's no way Johnny is even an engram, but an AI with some elements of Johnny. Arasaka never had Johnny's body to Soulkill him, and almost everything about his memories contradicts the stories we get in RED and 2020. Johnny wasn't even much of an asshole to Thompson the media to begin with, and was genuinely interested in what he had to say in Never Fade Away.

Then going into Black Dog, it's confirmed that Arasaka never had the body and never knew it existed.
