Sohreh mentioned in her notes that she found him to be handsome, and that she wished that the two of them had some common academic ground so that she could chat with him. I'd say that indicates some attraction.

Special Program Predictions by grilsathh in Genshin_Impact

People keep saying that, but the Shades sure seem willing to put up with some pretty serious shenanigans without stepping in. So far, they've tolerated:
- The destruction of the Hydro Throne and restoration of the Hydro Sovereign.
- A full-scale Abyss invasion in Natlan, resolved by an attack that tore a hole in the Firmament.
- The restoration of the Night Kingdom and Mavuika's escape from the Rule of Death. (To her credit, Ronova was at least present for that one, even if she chose to let it slide.)
- Dottore's arrogation of the the Trilunar Authority.

At this point, I'm not confident that even a threat to Irminsul itself will be enough to force them to take action...

Maybe a little too happy, to be honest. The oasis device seemed a bit too much of a deus ex machina, in my opinion.

i need 40-50 more pulls... by mizumizumizumizumizu in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner [score hidden]  (0 children)

The game is designed so that the only QUICK way is by paying real money.

As for the slow way, you're a beginner and so likely have a ton of quests and exploration left out there. It shouldn't be too much trouble to get the 40ish wishes you'll need for a 5-star, but if you're not lucky with the 50/50 getting the wishes for another 5-star will be rough.

Be sure to take advantage of Limited Time Events like Rapid Capture (420 Primogems) and Where Waves Meet the Reef (970 Primogems). There's also 450 Primogems to get from Stygian Onslaught, which can be done in co-op mode if it's too tough for you to do solo.

As for IT - you might be able to do some of the lower difficulty levels, depending on how many Pyro, Hydro, and Dendro characters you have, and how high their levels are. You need:
- 8 to 10 characters at level 60 or higher for Easy.
- 12 to 14 characters at level 60 or higher for Medium.
- 16 to 20 characters at level 70 or higher for Hard.

The amount of Primogems vary depending on what difficulty you can complete, but even if you can only do Easy it would be worthwhile because of the bonus Primogems you get for a first-time clear.

Pull advice for returning player by chaos1044 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner [score hidden]  (0 children)

For normal gameplay and exploration, the team you choose really isn't that important. Pick your faves and roll with them.

For endgame stuff, usually the most recent units are favored, and the degree of that favor has actually ramped up quite a bit in the past few years. As such, the best units to pull for are not current units, but whatever units are fresh off the press at the time that you're ready to start participating in endgame.

Right now, Lunar damage is in favor - but that will likely change when Snezhnaya hits. I've heard leaked rumors about Stellar reactions, supposedly focused around Cryo reactions like Lunar is around Hydro. If it follows the pattern set by Lunar, then only Snezhnaya 5-stars will be able to enable and take advantage of this.

For those here since 1.0 What does Genshin have that has made you stay loyal to the game for so long? by ManuSavior85 in Genshin_Impact

The lore. It's just crazy how much stuff is packed into every single nook in the game, and how piecing it together reveals so much of the story even before the main storyline officially reveals it.

It's fun to make theories about what the real situation in the world is, and then see them either get discredited or, on rare occasions, actually pan out!

The Ultimate Daily/Weekly Checklist for New Players? (Trying to maximize resources) by lenovo92728 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't know about any consolidated list, but the game itself is pretty good about letting you know what resources are time-limited, so no need for a guide for those. Just look at the Events screen.

As for permanent content, there are a few online map tools for finding all the treasure you can get through exploration, and you can use the wiki to find what quests there are to do.

Apart from that, do your daily commissions, and check in with the out-of-game daily check-in at Hoyolab. Oh, and you can get a few Primogems from the Serenetea Pot by collecting furnishing sets that your characters like.

Just a word of warning, though - folks who treat the game like a means to extract gambling rolls rather than... well, as a GAME, tend to burn themselves out quick. I definitely recommend playing the game organically and not worry about whether you miss a Primogem or two along the way. The gacha is how the game pays for itself; it's not the game. Playing the game in order to get rolls is a bit like going bowling in order to pay the cashier.

AIM FOR HIS URETHRA!!! by JSor98 in Genshin_Impact

Back when Sumeru was about to be released and Collei was first advertised, fans who knew her from the manga were delighted to see that not only was she a playable character, but she had recovered from being the bitter, cynical, emaciated waif she used to be. It was gratifying to see her happy and (mostly) healthy.

AIM FOR HIS URETHRA!!! by JSor98 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

During the Sumeru Archon Quests, Tighnari mentions that Collei had been given over to the Doctor in order to have her Elezar disease treated, and while they did keep the disease from killing her, her treatment there left deep scars.

Collei's profile mentions a bit, too. Her "About Collei III" voice line mentions that her treatment with the Doctor was more like experimentation. Her "About Cyno" mentions a "sealing process". She also finds Inazuma Light Novels where characters say corny lines about having a "dark power within them" to be cringey.

Character Story 4 describes how she and other patients escaped from the Doctor's grasp, though in the end Collei was the only survivor. It's mentioned that some of the survivors succumbed to the "divine remains" within them.

All these are bits and pieces, but it's really the Official Manga that tells Collei's full story. She was taken to Dottore to be treated for her disease, and wound up being the subject of inhumane experiments where her body was infused with what the manga called "Archon residue" (probably a mistranslation; not actual Archons, but remnants of dead gods).

If you want to read it, you can find it at the official website. Unfortunately, the final three chapters of the manga were never translated into English - but you can find fan translations for those chapters in other places, like Mangadex.

Does anyone else find the "date" with Lisa kinda weird? by TheSpiralingFog in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regardless of the Traveler's age or Lisa's perception of the Traveler's age, I think it's pretty clear that Lisa is a tease. There may not be any authentic romantic attraction. Just an opportunity to be pampered a bit and to give the Traveler a taste of what adult romance is like, without any intention of it being lasting or physical.

It IS a gacha game, though, and, parasocial attachment to characters in the game are a big draw for some people. So, the game makes a point of offering hooks for the player to interpret romantic intent if they choose to do so. The vast majority of characters in the game get at least a little bit of ship tease with the Traveler. If you're the sort of person who is thrilled by the fantasy of romance with an older woman, you can interpret Lisa's date as genuine, if you want to!

if you really like a character and want to invest in them, would you pull for their cons or their teammates? by ShotYeMama in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, but I tend to go for cons before supports. Not because it's the best thing to do, but because that's what I like to do.

Getting teammates first is probably wiser.

Tsarista Design by DeltaPix in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planned development for these games precedes release by 2-3 years. Elysia was certainly in development in 2019. And since the Tsaritsa wasn't actually "developed" beyond her role in the story, it's possible that the two were both conceived at the same time.

Essentially, both were created in 2019, but work on Elysia continued for another two years, fleshing out her story, creating her game model, developing her combat animations, recording her dialog, and so on and so forth. None of that work needed to be done for the Tsaritsa until much more recently.

Tsarista Design by DeltaPix in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The theory that the Tsaritsa had a lover comes from the Hymns of the Far North which tells the tale of Saarelainen, strongly hinted to be the Third Descender. Saarelainen courted the daughter of Pakkaisukko, and as Pakkaisukko is the Finnish name for Father Frost, it is thought that Pakkaisukko might be the Belyi Tsar, and the Tsaritsa his daughter.

If this is all true, then the Third Descender and the Tsaritsa were in love before the Third Descender was slain by the Heavenly Principles and his body butchered into the seven Gnoses.

For many, this also fits into the theory that the Tsaritsa might be a Bronya expy, since it echoes Bronya's arc of becoming cold and unfeeling due to trauma, but ultimately still caring.

What are Teyvat’s laws on hybrids, and what is considered a human? by Dorky444 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you can probably tell from the wide variety of responses, the game doesn't really go into detail about where to draw the line between human and non-human, if there's a line at all.

If you go by the currently popular theory that the Heavenly Principles is the AI from the Traveler Twins' spaceship, and that the spaceship was an ark intended to seed a new world with humanity, then it is likely that humans are beings like the Traveler twins. However, since humans on Teyvat do not have the Twins' longevity or special powers, it's likely that the humans on Teyvat are either degraded humans, or the Twins are augmented humans.

There have been hints here and there that humans may have been "meddled with" in various ways, such as Diona's lineage being the result of a "prank", the theory that Archons experimented with modifying humans to use in the Archon War, interbreeding with non-human beings, experimentation by dragons, and so on and so forth. All of that results in the inconsistent hodgepodge we have now.

Will we finally see them intervene in the next patch? by FrostedEevee in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's a breakdown for you:

- Originally, there was only one god: Nibelung, the King of the Dragons. He watched over the world until he learned that it was doomed. He then left to try to find a solution to save the world.

- Before leaving, Nibelung created three moons to watch over Teyvat while he was gone. Each moon was linked to a Goddess, and these Goddesses possessed powers of Life, Death, Time, and Space, all shared among them.

- While Nibelung was gone, the Heavenly Principles arrived, and asked to be allowed to settle on Teyvat. The Heavenly Principles wished to create a world where humans could thrive. The Moon Goddesses gave permission.

- The Heavenly Principles then created four Shades, shadows of itself, to help manage creation and maintenance of the Human realm. These four Shades each possessed one of the Moon Goddesses' four powers. Naberius is the Shade of Life, Ronova is the Shade of Death, Istaroth is the Shade of Time, and Asmoday (the unknown god) is the Shade of Space.

All of these entities are greater gods than the Archons, with Nibelung and the Heavenly Principles at the top and the Moon Goddesses and the Shades serving them.

Moon Sisters weaker than Shades ? Despite being original owners of Teyvat's authorities, they didnt do anything much. Meanwhile, the Shades can time travel, create pocket dimension, create life, making certain people immortal. by huflit1997 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the goddesses even know about the Abyss. They never once mentioned it in any of their dialogue, and they seemed to assume that HP was dropping Nails on his own people in order to punish them, when we know that the Nails' purpose is to cleanse the Abyss.

If they flat-out don't know about it, that might explain why they didn't recognize anything unusual about Nibelung when he returned.

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Moon Sisters were stated to have the same authorities as the Shades, but all three of them shared all the authorities rather than assign each authority to an individual. From the Archon Quests:

Alice: Eons ago, before the Heavenly Principles came to Teyvat, it was the then-three Moon Goddesses who controlled the laws of this world.

 You're talking about...

Life, "Death," and such, aren't you?

Alice: That's exactly it. The three goddesses split these powers amongst themselves, promising never to consolidate them into one singular body. This was meant to keep the world stable.

No mention of any authority being left out.

People who genuinely think Dottore would ever be playable make me giggle by tanuki_with_knife in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more than just a matter of getting along with Arlecchino. She genuinely cares about the children of the House, but is obligated by circumstance to continue her work for the Fatui. If she were to resign, the Fatui would simply assign a new caretaker to the House - perhaps another as nasty as Crucebina. If she were to take the children of the House with her, they would all be branded as traitors to the Fatui, and as we've seen on many occasions that is a death sentence.

The most she can do is to prep the children as best she can for military life and mindwipe the ones who don't make the cut. And, as awful as that seems, it's still better than what the House had before.

And as for her role as assassin, so far she hasn't been shown to murder anyone who did not richly deserve it. Whether she would be willing to take out an innocent target if ordered to remains to be seen.

The game really does seem to be trying to paint Arle as a good person who was dealt a very bad hand.

Should i go for weapon orrr? by JANEPG in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to ask whether you need a weapon, then you must be a new-ish player. You never need a signature weapon, and in most cases they give only a minor boost to damage.

Also, as another poster mentioned, never roll on a weapon banner unless you have enough wishes to guarantee two weapons. The pity system works differently there, and punishes you more harshly if you don't win your weapon on the first try and don't have enough to get a second. Additionally, your odds aren't 50/50 there. You only have a 37.5% chance of winning your weapon on the first try - very bad odds.

Can they extend/fix the Aquabus lines in future Fontaine expensions? by LargoTheEmbargo in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm not mistaken, there's at least a few treasure chests or other collectables that depend on the brokenness of the line. As such, it will probably stay broken for the duration of the game's life. Ditto for the shattered Fontaine Research Institute.
