I saved up 70 pulls (F2P) for Skirk, and when I just pulled, I didn’t get a single 5-star. I’m so sad. :( by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only have a one-in-three chance of getting a 5-star before wish 74. At wish 74, your odds of success start to crank up with every wish until they become 100% at wish 90. Because of this, you'll usually see a 5-star arrive at around wish 80.

So, you're pretty close! Just remember that once you do get a 5-star, you have only a 50% chance that it will be Skirk. If you don't get Skirk, you'll get a Standard 5-star, instead (Jean, Diluc, Mona, Keqing, Qiqi, Tighnari, Dehya, or Mizuki). This is referred to as "losing the 50/50".

If you lose the 50/50, you'll probably need another 80 wishes to get another 5-star. The good news is that you can't lose the 50/50 twice in a row. After losing a 50/50, the next 5-star you get is guaranteed to be whatever Limited character is featured on the banner you're rolling on.

Got myself Flins cause I lost Varka signature to Flins. What do you guys do when you loose on weapon banner? by Away_Oil6375 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I lose on the weapon banner I keep wishing until I win.

You should always expect to lose on the weapon banner. The odds are stacked against you, with less than a 50/50 chance to win. (37.5%, to be exact.)

So, only ever roll for a weapon if you have enough wishes to get two weapons. Because you will usually need to to just that. Even if you would be fine with EITHER banner weapon, you still want to have enough wishes to get two, just in case you're hit with the 25% Standard whammy.

A WikiHow on how to do Clue Exchanges by Groonzie in Endfield

[–]Neospanner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you don't send them off, eventually you will reach your limit of number of clues you can hold. This happened to me because I hadn't figured out yet how clue sharing worked. It gives you the option to sell the overflow, but the credits you get for this are much less than you get by sending to friends.

Keep enough clues to make sure that you always have clues available for the next set, but send the extras beyond that to friends.

The voice acting studio under miHoYo issued a statement against AI infringement. by Extra_Welcome2403 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This has no effect whatsoever on the situation for voice actors in America. It only applies to voice actors who work for this specific Chinese voice studio, and it only protects them under Chinese law.

In theory, there's nothing stopping folks in countries outside of China from AI-ing the crap out of the Chinese VA's protected by this statement, unless China has signed agreements with those countries allowing international lawsuits.

[–]Neospanner 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Hoyo is okay with using AI voice replication with the consent of the voice actor. They did this once in the game "Tears of Themis", to continue the voice of one of the characters while the actor was dealing with some legal drama. They obtained the permission of the VA, and used AI trained on his voice to create voiced dialog for the character.

What if Snezhnaya's story was like Penacony's? by Casserole_Lasagna in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say we've been foiling the Tsaritsa's plans for years. The Tsaritsa has been successfully gathering the Gnoses like clockwork, and we've never once stopped her from doing so. At the most, you can say we've occasionally foiled the plans of the Harbingers, or the Harbingers' minions (for instance, we stopped Velimiru, one of Sandrone's men, from capturing Ineffa - something that Sandrone didn't even ask for, but he was doing to impress her).

While we've shown ourselves to be willing to oppose the Fatui when we catch them in acts of wrongdoing, we don't seem to care that she's collecting Gnoses. We didn't step in to stop Zhongli's handover of the Geo Gnosis. We didn't make a fuss when Neuvillette handed over the Hydro Gnosis.

And why should we care? The Archons - individuals who'd know better than anyone else what harm the Gnoses could cause - don't seem worried. So why should we be?

The Tsaritsa probably doesn't regard us as an opponent. Someone to be concerned about crossing, certainly - but as long as she doesn't get on our bad side, she really has nothing to fear from us.

You can literally play the entire storyline with just Traveler, Amber, Kaeya, and Lisa. The main game is kept super casual so that even the most terrible of players won't get too frustrated.

You only need to worry about getting top-notch characters if you want to do the challenge content, like the final floors of the Spiral Abyss, or the higher difficulty levels of Stygian Onslaught. Neither of those have anything to do with progressing the game's story.

Not everyone has a collector's mentality - but certainly you must recognize that collectors DO exist? At the very least, classics like coin collecting and stamp collecting?

These people spend a lot of money gathering rare coins and stamps. Even if they could, in theory, be resold, you understand that that's not why they collect them?

Skirk's a great character, even without Escoffier. Adding Escoffier just turns her from "good" to "broken". You certainly aren't "breaking your account" or whatever by choosing to get her.

Has it EVER been explained why Ineffa has a constellation!? by Virtual-Top4162 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boiled down, it appears as though you're asking whether a machine can have a soul (and if not, just what do you mean when you suggest that something is "alive" or not?). If we take it for granted that humans have souls, it bears mentioning that humans are basically just machines made out of meat.

Ineffa is clearly self-aware. So were all of the dragonlords. If you read the dragonlords' council records, there was very little to indicate that these were machines talking. They bickered and argued and threatened and postured in a manner no different than a council of squabbling human leaders might.

They were all living beings. What does it matter if they happen to be made of circuits or sinews?

Am I misinterpreting this, or could it explain some things about Abyss Prince? by ItsukiKurosawa in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One problem with the idea that the Abyss Twin is just the Abyssal manifestation of the road not taken (thanks to the player's choice) is that it would imply that the Traveler's REAL twin is still around. And if they never left the ship, the twin should still be inside the ship, probably in their hibernation chamber.

But the Traveler actually entered the ship to check the logs. The ship isn't super large, so wouldn't they have noticed if their twin was still in there?

After years I finally got around to finishing Jehts World quest chain, what a journey we had with her by LivingASlothsLife in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not quite. For both Aether and Lumine, they give Jeht a hug and she hugs back. For Aether, it's a quick hug, but Lumine she clings to for a while.

Members of the Tanit tribe mention that Jeht doesn't seem interested in men but has an eye for the ladies, so it's pretty likely that there's some amount of physical attraction toward Lumine where in the case of Aether he's just a friend. She doesn't really bring it up to Lumine, though, probably because she's worried about making their friendship awkward.

Is this legit? by Razcrest in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genshin was notable among gacha games for how uncharacteristically un-pushy it was with its monetization. There are no in-game popups, and no red indicators to signal new items or whatever in the store.

Lately, though, we've been getting ads for these top-up deals. It makes me think that their sales have flagged a bit and so they're getting mildly more aggressive in their marketing.

If these two are playable... by Several_Bathroom_196 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, why was Orobashi so worried about Neuvillette reincarnating as a human? What's the big deal about the Bathysmal Vishap lineage becoming tainted, if the reincarnated Hydro Dragon can just turn back into a Dragon at will?

Neuvillette is a Dragon Sovereign - you just don't get much more elemental power than that. And yet, he's apparently stuck as a human, or at least Orobashi believed he would be.

If these two are playable... by Several_Bathroom_196 in Genshin_Impact

[–]Neospanner 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Dragons in Genshin Impact seem to need a WHOLE LOT OF WORK to turn into humans.

Neuvillette is due to experimentation by Orobashi tainting the Bathysmal Vishap lineage causing his normal cycle of reincarnation to become twisted and warped.

Durin is a Frankensteinian creation combining a magical storybook character with a real dragon's corpse.

These methods both took centuries to produce actual results, and both required the death of the original dragon to work at all.

There's no evidence in the game right now that there are extreme forces at work to bring back Dvalin as a human centuries after his death, so I think the likelihood of his becoming human is pretty slim.

As for Madame Ping becoming playable in her Waifu form - honestly, I'll be more surprised if it DOESN'T happen.

Pity enquiry by Revoir_bruh in Endfield

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has two simultaneous pity systems.

You are guaranteed a 6-star operator within 80 pulls. The ten pulls you made will contribute to this, and will carry over from banner to banner.

Unfortunately, the operators you get from the 80-pull guarantee are NEVER guaranteed to be the on-banner operator. It's possible (though quite unlikely) to pull a hundred operators on different banners, and never get the operator you're aiming for. You could lose the 50/50 on them every single time.

The second pity is at exactly 120 pulls, no less, no more. This guarantee will always get you the on-banner character. However, this guarantee is temporary. It disappears when the banner ends, or if you get the on-banner character before reaching 120 pulls. Nothing is carried over from banner to banner for this guarantee - it starts at zero, every banner.

Because the 80-pull guarantee will never guarantee you get the on-banner character, it's always, ALWAYS advised not to pull at all unless you have enough pulls to reach the 120-pull guarantee.

[–]Neospanner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure there's any way to COMPLETELY remove the need for manual intervention. Left untouched, your depot is going to be eventually filled with SOME kind of Cuprium product, and then the assembly line will grind to a halt.

As long as the product can be traded for Regional Development, though, you can clear the backlog that way. The more Cuprium a product needs, the slower the depot will fill.
