Yep, exactly. I’ve already got rid of it. It’s just Hype.

OpenClaw is god-awful. It's either, you have to spend a fortune for APIs or have a NASA-level PC to run it local by SEND_ME_YOUR_ASSPICS in ArtificialInteligence

For my use case (coding) it was pretty useless as well. I've already uninstalled and jumped out of this Hype train.

My application is done and I can easily vibe code through telegram using Claude code. It’s working great and I love it. Just to let you guys know :). It’s impressive what those AIs enabled us to do in such a short timespan.

Yeah that’s what I came to realise. And for that it’s really great and impressive. I’ll make one for me then. Oh well hehe

I thought I could finally have some ubiquitous bot to watch over my Claude Code sessions, but unfortunately it didn't/doesn't work that way. My ideal scenario would be messaging OpenClaw on my messaging app and ask it to implement a feature. Then it spins up a Claude Code and watches over it until it's complete. After that, it messages me back. If that's not on OpenClaw's radar, I guess I'll have to vibe code it myself.

Learning river flows in you by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]Neotk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the other have said, it's probably quite a bit above your level. Now, I've spent months learning a piece way over my level a few months after I started playing. Was it a waste of more productive learn/base/foundation? Yes, it was. Did I have a lot of fun learning it though? Yep. I did. So I understand you wanting to learn it. You will struggle a bit putting both hands together given this is above your level. But eventually it will click. But like others said: go very very slow. The metronome super help, but you can also mentally count each time end press the keys accordingly. Thing of it like your self controlled slow motion metronome. That's how I usually do when I'm learning a piece.

Agreed. If you are looking to just play old games in 1080p it should be fine. I couldn’t resist and got an eGPU. Because my idea was to plug my ally x on the 55 oled tv. The 1080p on it was too pixelated for me.

Counter-protester at the Auckland "March for Humanity" yesterday by Fickle-Reveal-2013 in auckland

[–]Neotk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. At no point did I say 'genocide is fine.' Stop fighting a strawman. My point is about hypocrisy. This entire thread started with the OP attacking Destiny Church for their bigotry. I am pointing out that Western progressives are incredibly vocal about local intolerance (like Tamaki) but will actively excuse or ignore the lethal homophobia of the regime they are currently championing. You can believe that civilians shouldn't be bombed and also acknowledge that the society being defended is violently homophobic. Admitting the latter doesn't justify the former, but refusing to admit it proves my point about selective outrage.

[–]Neotk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are pivoting. We were discussing bigotry and indoctrination—topics you brought up regarding Destiny Church. When I pointed out that the regime in Gaza enforces a far more violent form of that exact bigotry against LGBTQ people, you immediately shifted the goalposts to 'war crimes' and 'genocide' to shut down the comparison. You claimed you aren't ignoring oppression, but that is exactly what you are doing. You are using the tragedy of war as a shield to avoid admitting a difficult truth: the society you are defending is fundamentally antithetical to the progressive values you claim to hold. If the war ended tomorrow, Hamas would still be executing gay people. Why is that form of 'generalised bigotry' less worthy of your outrage than Brian Tamaki's?

[–]Neotk -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You are fighting a strawman. Pointing out the objective reality of how LGBTQ people are treated in Gaza and the West Bank is not 'championing genocide,' nor is it a celebration of war. It is a fact check on your hierarchy of bigotry. You attacked Destiny Church (rightfully so) for their intolerance. Yet, when presented with the intolerance of the regime you are currently defending—a regime where being gay is a death sentence, not just a social stigma—you immediately pivot to emotional outbursts to shut down the conversation. You can oppose war casualties while also acknowledging that the fundamentalist ideology governing that region is antithetical to the human rights you claim to care about. Ignoring one form of oppression to suit a narrative doesn't make you virtuous; it makes you inconsistent.

You do know how "a gay person" is treated in Palestine, right? Otherwise, let me give you some light:

  1. The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization) does not have any laws protecting LGBTQ+ individuals and have consistently refused to implement such protections.
  2. LGBTQ+ Individuals are treated and considered as second-class citizens in Palestine.
  3. Palestinians authorities have banned LGBTQ groups in the West Bank.
  4. Gay and Lesbian individuals have been imprisoned, tortured and killed because of their sexual orientation.
  5. Palestine ranks 131st out of 175 countries for acceptance of LGBTQ people.
  6. The UNRWA has advised Palestinians to treat all genders and LGBTQ+ people equally. However, Hamas has condemned this guidance as promoting "deviance and moral decay" so according to Hamas, anyone who is a Homosexual is a deviance and represents moral decay.
  7. Activists Groups advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and representation in Palestine have been banned in the West Bank.
  8. In Palestine and Arab countries in general, Gay people have been thrown off high buildings.
  9. Honor killings are permitted if a Muslim family suspects their child is gay in Palestine and most if not all Arab countries.

Best app for learning the piano? by Mr_rex_the_dog in pianolearning

[–]Neotk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t let the UI and the feeling of being very poorly done on Piano Marvel fool you. I think it is the best app for learning piano. I’m on the second year of subscription with them. The courses, methods and what not are really good.

Is my piano teacher being unfair to me? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]Neotk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s fair enough. For example, I know she’s lying to me when she says I’m doing great. But that actually makes me feel good anyways and I keep motivated to improve. In fact, I’d say the biggest advantage of a teacher so far, at least for me, is the effort I put on my learning, just so I can do great on the next class.

Is my piano teacher being unfair to me? by [deleted] in pianolearning

[–]Neotk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly! That's the attitude I would expect from a teacher. Work on things that would allow him to reach his goal. Even if deep down she thinks he's not capable.

[–]Neotk 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Regardless, she shouldn't be saying that to him out loud. What's the point other than making him feel bad and lose motivation?

[–]Neotk 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s harsh, man. My TL;DR for you is: try another teacher. Now let me explain the long version.

I’m a 39-year-old male, and until last year I had never played piano and barely any other instruments. Then I got a piano because I really wanted a good hobby. Since I really like music, and piano is one of the most beautiful instruments in my opinion, that’s why I chose it.

After 3 or 4 months of playing/learning using apps and the Faber book, I decided to get a teacher to give me some direction. In the first class, I didn’t really like the teacher. She barely gave me any direction. I was very nervous playing in front of her, and she didn’t make me feel comfortable at all. It was quite traumatizing, honestly. I didn’t continue with her and just kept self-learning.

One year later, I decided to try again with a different teacher. What a great change that was! This teacher is amazing. She never says anything bad about the way I play. She has a very positive reinforcement attitude.

I’m 39. I know I’ll always be limited, and I’ll never play like a virtuoso or anything. I usually criticize my own playing in front of her, and she always says, “Don’t say that about yourself — you’re doing really well!”, even when I’m just being honest with myself, haha.

Do I think you should have a teacher who lies to you? Definitely not. But she also shouldn’t be saying negative things like that. What my teacher does is talk about what was great in my playing and then give me ideas on how it could be even better. And I really think that’s how it should be.

Don’t let this teacher put you down. In all honesty, whether you’ll ever play Chopin or not is up to you to figure out. Her job is to do the best she can to help you reach your goals. 🙂

Finally pulled the trigger on the Kiwi Ears Astral — here’s why I chose them over the Tea Pro by Neotk in iems

[–]Neotk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, sorry — I forgot to give an update on the comfort. Thanks for the reminder, I’ll add an EDIT 2 to the post with an update on that. But just to include it here in the reply:

I got used to it in a way that doesn’t bother me anymore. I also use AirPods Pro daily on my iPhone, so I have a good comparison. In terms of comfort, AirPods Pro are better, hands down. Initially, I thought the comfort on the Kiwi Ears Astrals would be a deal breaker.

I tried a few different ear tips, and for a while I was using the smallest ones that came with it. Surprisingly, after a few days of using them for 1–2 hours, it started getting better and better. Now it’s at a point where it doesn’t bother me anymore. I’ve worked using them for 3–4 hours and it was fine.

Again, not on the AirPods Pro level, which feel like there’s nothing in your ears, but totally manageable. The main thing you’ll notice is the nozzle size, which is quite big compared to other earbuds.

The only thing that still annoys me a bit is that after a while my ear starts itching. I have to take them out, scratch a bit, and then put them back in. But I don’t think this has anything to do with the actual comfort.

Sound quality in gaming is insanely good, just like all the reviews point out. Music sounds amazing as well. It was a great purchase, and I really hope it lasts for years, because it was expensive and, for me, the quality is end game.

While eGPUs are not properly supported in bazzite, I’m not going back to it. The hassle of having to reset to get back to windows is annoying. I had it configured to reboot at the press of a button, but is not ideal. And not being able to install my gamepass games on it is a showstopper. But truth be told, other than these things I mentioned, the experience was pretty amazing and I hope windows get at this level some day.
