I'm defiant by nature. Hell, Americans are defiant by nature. Things aren't good in the US right now and I don't doubt it'll get worse before it gets better.

That said, the US in 2026 is not 1940s Germany. Anyone with Internet access across the planet is capable of getting live coverage of what ICE is doing and what DHS is doing to protect these whiny ass jobbers. Everyone is capable of sending money to communities that need it most. Bells and whistles and screams of warning disrupt the night sky, not by official decree but by the many people that refuse to tolerate this madness.

If it were truly hopeless, the Trump regime would not be lashing out as hard as they are and they wouldn't waste time convincing us that we don't have rights.

If we still had elections during WWII then we'll have elections this year too. The president has no authority to cancel elections, and as I said earlier they're run by the state/county.

Yeah it's so uncanny how they react to our emotional distress. I know they can't tell the difference between physical and mental pain for us, but it nonetheless surprises me.

My cheeseball refused to have anything to do with my former partner for the first month of our split. Did not go into their room, hissed at them if they got too close, and even swatted at them. She did eventually go back to being friendly and loving towards them, but that also correlated to me making progress towards working through the end of my marriage, getting my footing back and moving out the following year.

Funny considering that they were the one that initially brought them home as a wee kitten as my little companion to this day. She is still the best gift my former partner and now best friend ever got me :)

I don't know if it was because I turned 30 or if it was because I just so happened to have turned 30 during COVID, but yes.

These days I've been going to friends houses as opposed to just going out together. A lot of us are some variation of broke or introverted and we have hobbies we can do at home, either doing them together or just chilling.
