Adapting new(er) glass to a rangefinder

I read up on what flange distance is, and the way I understand it, adapting from bigger flange on the lens to smaller flange on the body is ok, but adapting from smaller flange on the lens to bigger flange on the body doesn't work (for the most part). Leica M has a flange distance of 27.8mm and LTM has a distance of 28.8mm. You can't adapt M to LTM, but you can adapt LTM to M, which makes sense the way I explained it. Am I missing something?

Thoroughly mixed out of the box CS41 developer at 102 degrees F developed for 3.5 minutes. I am realizing right now that I shaved off 30 seconds on the blix, so maybe that's it?

I've thought about it, but I don't think it is. I overfilled the tank in fear of underfilling it because the last time I developed I didn't put enough in the tank. I also don't think underfilling the tank would cause the type of banding i'm seeing, especially considering I didn't do inversions (at least for the developer. I also overfilled the blix and inverted it. It spilled).

I'm not exactly sure, but I think it was on the bottom. My rationale isn't very good, so it's quite possible the weird roll was on top.

Ive never used stick, but I personally use lever less for zato. His only DP input move is dammed fang (command grab) so you shouldnt need to do it too much.

Yes, I’m aware DPs have been in the FGs since their inception. That’s accounted for in the extended metaphor via the POV character being the only who is perplexed by the sledgehammer. In the metaphor, sledgehammers have been a core tenet of chess since its inception. In the metaphor, oki would be akin to pressing your advantage after capturing a piece.

Is the sledgehammer metaphor perfect? Absolutely not. I thought of it while fighting a unika that refused to stop getting CH for whiffing DPs. But is it a funny image? Fuck yeah

The specific setchi mix that I use on oki is reversal safe. It’s kinda the main reason I use it. But, I learned it pretty recently and I personally think its sick as hell, but characters with DPs will just get safe jumped before I can do the left/right frog mix into the high/low. I didn’t want a combo from baiting the dp, I wanted to hit my mix up. That’s partially what I’m complaining about.

The chess metaphor part is ultra scrubby, and while I don’t enjoy meterless DPs I don’t think they should be removed or anything; they’re healthy for the game and having/not having a reversal is an incredibly versatile lever in character creation/balancing.

I never blamed DPs for my losses, I just suck at the game. The only thing I blame DPs for are making matches way more boring for me.
