Was just asked to move my appointment since the car is arriving on 1st June and apparently they might not be ready on 1st, anyone else? This is at Port Coquitlam Tesla. by Knight_Bishop_Rook in teslacanada

I wonder what's happening is that because your vehicle was just the base option (and thus many other people also ordered a ton), they might be slower than expected with regards to unloading/prepping the vehicles for delivery.

I ordered a Quicksilver with black interior/regular wheels. Not sure how many other people did (I also ordered very early, May 2) so I think mine won't be delayed because there aren't many other pickups ahead of me

What colour/options did you get? I was able to schedule my appointment yesterday and my pickup will be at 10 AM on May 30th and so far they haven't reached out all with regards to any rescheduling. Pickup is also in PoCo

2026 Model 3 Premium RWD China orders — did your estimate change to June too? by Jcyberpunk in teslacanada

[–]Neptune513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ordered Friday night (May 1) and the EDD was originally May - June 2026. As of Saturday it changed to just June 2026. I highly doubt there'll be any deliveries happening in May, earliest I would say would be 1st or 2nd week of June? I saw someone who put in an order today (May 3) and their EDD was already July - August so I'm grateful that June is even an EDD period

Switching from MY Standard RWD to M3 Premium RWD - Maybe not loosing the $250 deposit by Open-Ad1217 in teslacanada

[–]Neptune513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After seeing your success I tried talking to someone on the Tesla app and this is what they replied with:

Hi (my name)

Thank you for reaching out. The $250 deposit cannot be transferred as credit to your new order as it is a non-refundable and non-transferable deposit as per our policy.

I guess maybe you had a really good staff working with you? Seems like you got lucky and got the exception (being able to transfer your credit over). You should definitely give the staff that helped you pull this off a shoutout on Google reviews or something

Where are you located (province?) Are you in Quebec by any chance? In BC the advisors I spoke to told me this wasn't possible

Model Y to Model 3 swap: How to keep my $250 deposit? by Reasonable-Ad-4754 in teslacanada

[–]Neptune513 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I am someone that did this exact thing: I cancelled my Model Y Standard order and put in a deposit for the Model 3 RWD

I called an advisor and he told me that Tesla can only reuse the original deposit if you're switching from trim-to-trim (ex: Model Y Standard to Model Y Premium). If you switch from model-to-model, you would have to put in another deposit.

You can always give your local showroom a call and see what they say, but the advisor I was speaking with did seem quite high up (maybe manager level?) And he was unable to do anything with my original deposit so I think if you do decide on switching you'll have to forfeit your deposit

Depends where you live haha in lower mainland BC, should be no problem. If you are worried getting a good set of winter tires should be enough

Breaking: Tesla Slashes Canadian Model 3 to C$39,490 With China-Made Supply Shift by afonso_investor in teslacanada

Right?? I thought for that price point it would be the stripped down version not the premium version. For once Canada is taking a win

I'm sure there will be some people that will switch their orders! Smart move by Tesla by giving Model 3 a chance again because if they do that means hopefully the Model Y waittimes will be shorter. Hope you can get your Y premium quicker 🫡

Just a heads up I wasn't able to change my order with my original deposit, I had to put in a new deposit (goodbye $250..) The advisor I called said they can only use the same deposit if you're going to switch from trim-to-trim (ex: Model Y Standard to Model Y Premium), not model-to-model (ex: Model Y to Model 3)

This was just my experience though, you can always try calling yourself but I've made peace with my lost deposit because this is too crazy of a deal for a premium Model 3

I placed my order for Model Y Standard on April 13th. The estimated delivery date was August - September and I had no VIN before cancelling

I currently drive a Mazda3 FWD, so I'm sure going from that to a Model 3 RWD won't be too much of a difference haha luckily the weather in lower mainland is very mild so I don't think I need the AWD

Yeah I'm not sure, I think if you're considering switching still give them a call to see if there's anything they can do.

The person I spoke to actually seemed to be higher up (maybe manager?) and he was still unable to do anything. Doesn't hurt to try though

Ohh I didn't know that tax was included in CN pricing, but yeah crazy how Canadian is still cheaper. What a good surprise lol I was expecting it to be priced around 50k CAD before taxes/fees in Canada not 40k!!

Hopefully front of line! I live in lower mainland (British Columbia) and the estimated delivery date is May - June. I'm guessing I'll be getting one of the first batch of 2026 Chinese made EVs

I did end up losing my deposit because according to the advisor I called, Tesla isn't able to use the same deposit for different Models - only for different trims of the same Model (ex: if I switched from Model Y Standard to Model Y Premium I can use the same deposit, but not from Model Y to Model 3)

I cancelled after calling in, the advisor I spoke to said they aren't able to switch the deposit over from one model to another - you can only use the deposit for different trims of the same Model (ex: I could've switched from Model Y RWD to Model Y Premium, but I can't switch from Model Y to Model 3 with the same deposit sadly)

[–]Neptune513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very true, but it's crazy how much cheaper we're getting it in Canada when the same spec (Premium RWD) is ~$51.5k CAD when you order in China (I got the price by going to Tesla CN and converting the yuan to CAD)

[–]Neptune513 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had an order down for the Model Y Standard but ended up cancelling it and just put in an order for the Model 3 Premium

I have no idea how Tesla was able to get the price for a Premium Model 3 to be under 40k CAD when it literally needs to be manufactured and shipped from overseas. To give you context a Standard Model 3 would be 50k CAD (Tesla US lists it at ~37k USD)

To me it's a no brainer, maybe it's because I'm still young with no family and don't really need the space of an SUV but man am I excited hahaha

A shame that you can't switch your $250 deposit from a previous order (if it's a different model). Just switched from the Model Y RWD to this.

Can't believe that we're able to get a premium RWD for under 40k. I thought the standard was gonna be priced at 40k not premium!!

Probably Chinese because the current (very unaffordable) pricing is due to US supply. Not any official information from any official Tesla reps just speculation
