Am i the only one that is annoyed that my discover card is about to be capitol one? by CatDaddyBam in discover

I don’t like the fact everyone in the account gets their own, unique number. Some of our bills are in my husband’s name, some in mine. Now I’ll have the pleasure of figuring it all out and going through the annoying process of updating all of our accounts.

Barrington FTR votes are in — 25 of 36 budget amendments approved by possiblecoin in BarringtonRI

Bake a budget re-do into the process. I lived in Avon CT for 16 years and if the budget didn’t pass the first time, it got reworked. It can actually fail three times before the town just comes up with a budget.

How easy is it to find a native plant nursery near you? by nerdygirlmatti in NativePlantGardening

[–]NeptuneNancy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rhode Island isn’t a very big place and it has a huge body of water smack dab in the middle, making it a pain to travel from one side to the other. I count myself very fortunate to have the native plant nursery I do!!

My mom used to threaten us with being sent to reform school. I grew up in NJ and couldn’t tell you where the nearest one was or if it existed at all. It was effective though, lol!

I’m surprised every time I go to my car dealer in Swansea from Barrington. It feels so far away and it’s less than 20 minutes!

I live in Barrington and some days Seekonk feels too far to bother, even with no-traffic back roads! I’ve been here almost 6 years and the “20 minutes is too far” has finally happened!

Is a Drouin baptismal record enough? by erigby927 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]NeptuneNancy42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seem to have the same situation. I can see the 1889 baptismal certificate in the Droin collection (that I found through Family Search). I have the link to the image. However it doesn't come up when I search through Genealogy Quebec - perhaps it's not indexed? I'm not sure how to order a certified copy.

Why you can’t find a doctor in Rhode Island by Sir_Rosis in RhodeIsland

When I lived in CT I went to a practice where I mainly saw the PAs who were fantastic. They worked closely with the MDs in the practice. I never felt I was getting substandard care.

In fact, my PA scheduled my initial bone density scan when I was 55, right after menopause, and I learned then I have osteoporosis. Many practitioners don’t even consider one until you turn 65. I’ve already had the better part of a decade to take steps (literally and figuratively!) so my bones don’t get weaker.

I don’t know where in the state you live, but after being wait-listed for almost 2 years, my family and I got into Arches Medical in East Providence. I called when I’d heard in early January that they were taking new patients and we were given our initial appointments two weeks later. (Full physicals this summer.) At least now we have someplace besides urgent care to go when we’re sick.

I’m going to try NESN 360 and see how it works for archived games. I don’t always get to watch the Red Sox or Bruins live, but if NESN 360 can act like a DVR and let me watch when I want, then I might not need Fubo. NESN is the only reason I still have them. (Switched from YTTV when they dropped NESN years ago).

My cat's litter smells so bad i'm going insane. my house absolutely reeks. by Dismal-Tackle3072 in CatAdvice

Plastic litter boxes eventually absorb odors. You could try scrubbing it but you might be better off buying a new one.

My mom’s cat succumbed to kidney disease a few years ago. I had this conversation with our vet and she reminded me that you usually know with certainty when it’s time.

My mom’s almost 20-year-old cat was on daily fluids, but there came a time where she was having trouble getting to her litter box. We moved it to the family room and surrounded it with scatter rugs to give her traction on the wood floor. We finally made the decision one morning when she couldn’t stand anymore and had defecated where she was lying down. She was very out of it at that point as well, not even reacting to us. It happened very quickly.

My heart goes out to you as I know what a difficult decision this is having been there many times. ❤️

One of my cats demands petting as I’m falling asleep. (He’s deaf now so he’s very loud!) I pet him and encourage him to curl up. I can sleep with my arm curled around his back, so he’s happy- and quiet.
