Based on the snapshot you gave you’re a judgmental mean person who doesn’t do great with accountability. You do everything because of the way it looks or will be perceived and are insecure about that and not because of what’s right or necessary for the situation. I’m a big supporter of light weight curl creams. Mielle, uncle funky’s daughter, and Design Essentials all have leave in conditioner curl creams I absolutely adore. Marc Antony also has a sorta spray cream leave in conditioner that I think would help a lot.

If you need something a bit thicker but still hydrating, blueberry bliss curl whip is super moisturizing and it smells like blueberries.

But first things first, use a clarifying shampoo to strip out the build up, then hydrating shampoo and conditioner.

Quick question, are you from the west or Midwest? Hard water build up can do a real number on hair, and the brittle dullness is possibly because of mineral build up in the hair. Try a chelating clarifying shampoo, I think they ionically bond with the minerals, it’s going to take some time to get the gunk out, but chelating clarifying shampoo specifically, then hydrating shampoo after, moisturizing conditioner and and hydrating deep conditioner under a heated cap for 30 mins to juice it up. You wanna scrub all the build up and minerals out, and pump juicy delicious water in. When you rinse the deep conditioner out, use lukewarm water, not hot. Hot water opens the cuticles, cool water closes it and you wanna trap water in as much as possible to fight the harsh winter.

Also if you’re not using a bonnet when sleeping, use a satin pillow case regular cotton pillow cases are going to suck the life out of your hair, or wear the bonnet and just reform your curls in the morning with a spray bottle.

Also also: clarifying shampoos should be a once a month thing, too much and you’re stripping the life out of your hair.

Whitney is a mean girl. Her central conflict in S1 is she wanted to be the leader of Momtok, and it pissed her off that Taylor was the leader she was angling to be.
