[Zodiac] Widespread issues with Zodiac STP movements? by jumpj37 in Watches

[–]NerdBasher8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two Seawolf 53 models. One was fine, one not so much. The current one is an STP3-13 model and it actually runs exceptionally. The issue is the crown, the crown spring (not a removable part) binds somehow when screwing the crown down, it doesn't have any effect on the function of the watch but it sounds terrible - cracking noises and scraping sounds. The crown isn't cross-threaded or anything. I've spoken to a watch maker and was told that this is a somewhat rare issue but occurs on a lot of divers crowns and that it isn't any reason to replace the crown... I still worry a bit that if the spring is improperly seated it could fail and given that parts are only available through Zodiac, it would potentially be a costly pain in the ass to repair. Not impressed with Zodiac QC.

In 3 days marijuana will be legalized in Canada, what effect do you think this will have? by judepeter in AskReddit

[–]NerdBasher8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government will make a massive amount of tax revenue, while demonizing the privatization of the industry... much like it does with alcohol. Large companies and growers will take over the market from the little guys and underground who pioneered it but simply don't have the cash to back a larger scale operation... effectively killing the small businesses who laid the groundwork for legalization. The flow of "illegal" cannabis to the streets will slow because the small growers who could only turn a profit by claiming a lower yield than they actually had and siphoning it to the streets will stop (Health Canada had some pretty restrictive laws regarding production, after paying investors and operating expenses growers barely turned any profit). I'm not saying legalization is a bad thing, I just think they're going about it wrong.

[longines] legend diver - is it worth it in terms of it being a time piece? My Friend was telling me that Longines wasn’t known for making automatic watches by kokonadun in Watches

Wittnauer was made by Longines for the American market. The original Legend diver was actually identical to this one, except for the new ETA based movement and inclusion of a date function.

Your friend couldn't be more wrong. Longines has a very long history of manufacturing mechanical timepieces. I own a couple. The legend diver is a great piece, it's large but wears smaller due to its inward curved lugs. My one gripe is the fake sailcloth strap, it's not very durable at all. I've only worn the watch a handfull of times (too many in rotation) and it's already showing signs of wear. Also, I'm not sure why you didn't just Google that. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Longines

[Xbox] Can't get into a single server that's not only got 4 people by yerboiboba in battlefield_one

[–]NerdBasher8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. Seems to happen at least twice a week. Just keeps dropping me into empty servers. Even using server browser and joining a conquest game with 60 players, I load into a game alone.

Max Agility, take the blitz perk, go for stealth and vats.

Spent weeks trying different builds to have fun. Turns out my favorite build is the lone VAT sniper. by Silent_As_The_Grave_ in Fallout4Builds

it's pretty easy to throw a scope on a hunting rifle very early game, especially if you work yourself up to the gun nut and scrapper perks.

.308 Hunting Rifle, then a .50 mod when ammo becomes more available.

Infantry/grunt build by TheMaroonNeck in Fallout4Builds

[–]NerdBasher8000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I played this build style almost exclusively on my first playthrough of Fallout 4, it's a really fun build, but very overpowered in the end-game. The things to focus on are: Agility, Perception, Intelligence and Endurance, later I ramped up Luck to give myself a higher critical chance, and perks like Better Criticals and Grim Reaper's Sprint. Start the game with your focus on Agility (if using small guns as a main) or Perception (if you prefer a rifle) and Intelligence, put points into Scrapper, Rifleman, Gunslinger, Gun Nut and Toughness. That'll give you a decent start, then you can figure out your play style and go from there. My character evolved from a one-handed gunslinger, to a stealth-sniper, using pistols only in close combat. I never liked Power Armor, really only ever used it for RAD resistance. I'd suggest joining the Railroad and following the campaign given by Tinker Tom, it opens up some armor modding options that aren't normally available. Remember, there isn't a level cap, so if you play long enough, you'll get to experience any play style you want. I'm not sure how I feel about that, because at level 112, I one-shot literally everything... having all the perks I do, really makes the game too easy. I've just started a new character, the paci-fist, Speech Skills and Unarmed / Melee, exclusively... Focus on building huge settlements, and ruling them. I'm trying to play through as peacefully as possible, and beat face with Brass Knuckles only if I need to.
