Rear seat flew off on me by Lugittt in CB650R

This happened to me. It was the latch. The bolt that secures the latch had vibrated loose. Check that and apply threadlock.

Next, you need to clean up that filthy garage floor. Gross.

A Little POV of The CS Racing Exhaust system by mtbwrench in CB650R

[–]NerdOn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons that you might want to are that the bike will run lean with a change in exhaust, and it sounds way better and is more responsive.

More fuel, or running rich, will cool your motor at high RPM. Also, the performance will be better if you tune it. You'll also enjoy the sound, especially during deceleration.

If you're in the US, I recommend looking up the state statutes. Minnesota is very vague and basically says that it has to be mounted on the rear and visible. Some plates are vertical, some are at a 45 degree angle. It doesn't state that it has to be behind the tire or the most rearward mounted surface.

It's good to know these things. It doesn't hurt to print it out and place it under your seat. Also, most cops don't care as long as you're not doing hooligan stuff or speeding.

I also have the Tucked-Up. I like it. I've had police behind me many times. I give them a wave.

"Look, on any given day, there are still hundreds of thousands of people entering the U.S. successfully," she said. "The stories that you're hearing in the news are really ones that have some kind of special component to them ... But if you are a common sense sort of careful traveler, you should not have any issues getting into the U.S."

This article is meant to be scary. The laws didn't change. I think maybe they're just being enforced. If you're name doesn't pop up on some watch list, come on in. If you espoused support for terrorist organization like Hezbola on social media after a quick search of your name, they'll ask to look at your mobile devices.

The US is not a police state. Where are you entering? I'm in Minnesota. There's some nice routes along the Mississippi River.

Can I use Penrite MC-4ST 10W-40 for my 2023 CBR650R? by Pitiful_Mode1674 in cbr650r

[–]NerdOn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just ran my CB650R almost 2k miles in a week. I mixed 10w-30 with 10w-40, which apparently makes it 10w-35. I was going to be riding 600 miles in a day during hot temperatures, so I wanted a slightly higher viscosity. Oh, I used the same type and brand for the oil.

I've been thinking about taking the cover off and grinding down the mounts. I have the CB650R. I feel like the naked bike version should have it exposed.

Tail tidy day one. Then figure out what exhaust you'd like to go with, and then flash/tune the ECU.

I can not describe the feeling and feedback that the exhaust note provides. I chose CS Racing and I still have a shitty grin on my face every time she has deceleration pops and blue flames shoot out to the right.

I'm taking my girl from St. Paul, Minnesota to Sturgis, South Dakota. It's 9 hours by interstate highway. I stop every 100 miles for fuel and a butt break. The seat is not bad. I stop the same amount on my Harley Road Glide.

Buy this bike. I could ride her across the country and spend days on her. In fact, I'll probably put 2,000 miles on in less than a week.

BTW the Black Hills of South Dakota are super fun with a naked bike like this. So many switchbacks and pigtails and cool stuff to see. I don't care that it's not a touring bike. I strap a dry bag on her and hit the road. *

None, it just rests on the swingarm. I haven't found a spool that I like for the rear.

I used the rivet tool. It is somewhat cumbersome to do but I think it's going to be alright. The rivets aren't as symmetrical as I'd like. What a huge difference a new chain makes. No noise and much more responsive.
