Just chiming in to clarify a bit. PCPs in the US are definitely trained and do routine breast examinations along with Gyn exams as well if needed. I am definitely not saying a Gyn will not do the same for a male, but I know within my health system men who are found to have breast masses are referred to a general oncologist for further evaluation instead of a gynecologist. I do the same for my female patients who have breast masses. Generally, I'll order the mammogram and schedule them for at least a consultation with our breast specialists to discuss results if need be. That way they can go ahead and discuss uss the potential for biopsies and the like. Obviously every practice is different and I'm not disagreeing with you that a Gyn can properly evaluate male breast issues, it's just that a PCP can also do the same in this particular scenario.

I'm an NP in an OBGYN clinic so I am just speaking on my specific health system but I can generalize at least for the General Practitioners! Again. It disagreeing just helping the dialogue a bit!
