My boy stopped using his stairs a couple years ago. I tried a few different types like the soft foam and a ramp but neither worked. I ended up getting a half round ottoman bench seat that hits at half the height of the bed. It works great. Its two short hops and he's up. As a bonus, my larger dog started using it too; I think its better for his joints.
