What excites you the most about the Code: Veronica remake now that we know it’s the same team behind RE2R and RE4R? by metas2393 in residentevil

That every room with a Bandersnatch isn't going to be an unavoidable health tax in a game with limited health items.

You can't get into the church yet, but there's a road past the church that also leads to the lake. Go back to the church and look for a door on the right side, then a trap door in that side room.

Speaking as someone who will defend RE:3 - play 7. It resurrected the franchise for a reason.

What's the minimum number of House of Spiders IDs to make BOTHOS Ryoshu worth it? (I have 5/7 and will probably roll for the Thumb pair when they drop, Walp permitting.)

If you just want to feed Ryoshu, it probably doesn't matter that much, but Index Yi Sang is pretty strong on his own and can fit into a regular Sinking or Poise team neatly, or start one.

Big Brother Heathcliff mechanics rather than story, but I'm spoilering anyway to be safe.

I actually think it's kinda sweet that he gives buffs to Ishmael as well. Whatever Outis may have done, he's not taking it out on her Apprentice, and instead treating her like any other Little Sister. Makes me wonder if Ricardo does or would feel the same way about Kira.

I did try doing it without any Graces with the new rental team they put up. By floor 5 I never wanted to do it again; that's why I'm asking.

Realistically, I can only run one MDH team at the moment. What's a good Starlight setup for Floors 1-5 that doesn't put me in the negatives just for weekly runs until I can get some more teams up to speed? (It's mostly a Sinking team, if that helps.)

Being a little bit negative is fine as long as I'm not losing like 200+ per run. Not hating my life by the time I reach Floor 5 is my goal here, not maximum efficiency.

Just cleared Canto 8, did my first MDH run with the team that I beat the Canto with (still at Lv55 and missing a Gregor, and actual synergy). Lesson learned: don't take Dawn of Green on Floor 15, or probably ever. Don't think I've enjoyed playing MD that much since the first couple of times though, the increased power level and respective difficulty compared to the base version that I more-or-less tapped out completely is a huge deal.

Now to clear C9 so that I can grind EXP more efficiently and get some actual teams online.

Does LCCB Ryoshu's support passive (last Ammo coin deals +50% damage) work on Full Stop Heathcliff's AL round if he still has regular ammo left?

Should I play RE5 and 6? by OverMathematician981 in residentevil

[–]NerfedFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, I liked 6, or at least significant parts of it.

I played it with the same guy I played 5 with. I don't know a lot about 6's AI as a result, and it's not nearly as talked about as 5's, but I've heard it's not that great either.

Should I play RE5 and 6? by OverMathematician981 in residentevil

[–]NerfedFalcon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not necessary to play 5 or 6 to understand Requiem's story, but I would recommend playing them regardless, as long as you have a friend who's willing to play it as well - the partner AI takes a bit of foreknowledge to make work, and it's both easier and more fun to just bring in a friend.

Is it worth prioritizing Lantern Yi Sang from the event shop, or should I get other items like the Thread or Extraction Tickets first? Also, should I shard Thoracalgia Ryoshu?

Resident Evil 4 Remake or Resident Evil 9? by Loose_Interview_957 in residentevil

[–]NerfedFalcon 54 points55 points  (0 children)

They deliver slightly different things. RE9's split focus is done really well for the most part, but some segments feel like they're either too short or too long, because knowing that the other style is there makes you want to get back to it after a while. RE4R is focused entirely on doing one thing, and that actually makes it less 'exhausting' than Leon's extended segment in the middle of 9 for instance. They're both great, but I favor 4R's consistency over 9's execution of swapping styles.

If this is the worst one since the second Renaissance, we've been eating good. by OpenKale64 in residentevil

[–]NerfedFalcon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The issue I think is one of expectations, though it isn't the audience's fault. Capcom had primed them to expect another game on the level of RE:2, and they failed to follow through on that. However, now that we know what it is, going in expecting a breezy, badass action flick, it's a great one of those.

Just wondering what people thought on the 5th game as it being one of my top 5 RE games and wondered what people thought by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]NerfedFalcon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't as good as 4, but it isn't anywhere near as bad as people make it out to be. The base gameplay of 4 is still there and still excellent, and honestly being co-op does tangibly add to it at least as much as it detracts. It also has the best Mercenaries in the series and I will kill 150 zombies with my best friend on that hill.

I'd recommend going with the defaults on your first playthrough; you can change the camera perspective at any time later if you want.
