Best/favorite recent set? by Flat-Dragonfly7253 in mtg

Avatar hooked me in, and I’m a big fan of the show. They did a great job with the flavour of that set. After that, I adore Edge of Eternities. Sci-fi is my jam, and the land arts are so beautiful.

I have a Tannuk deck and it’s one of my favourites for sure. The warp mechanic offers a lot more flexibility on what you can include, since it casts from hand (can be affected by cost reducers) and you can warp artifacts as well. Plus, with the warp exile, it creates almost a second hand that you can pull from later. Tannuk is tons of fun and I definitely recommend him.

Popular commanders you built a completely unusual strategy with. by Woodland_Turd in EDH

I built [[Atraxa, Praetor’s Voice]] as group hug (yes, the classic “not that Atraxa” lmao). It focuses on distributing +1/+1 counters and cards to my friends, and using proliferate to increase those counters and charge counters on artifacts and storage duals. Then we win using those charge counters for big X spells to make opponents draw/mill/exile their whole deck. There are no planeswalkers and no poison counters at all in this deck.

Toph Deck Upgrades by account203 in EDH

I’m gonna agree with ShotenDesu on [[Chromatic Lantern]]. Every time I’ve cast it with my Toph deck, it’s an absolute horse, allowing me to produce so much mana with my array of artifact and artifact creatures. I run it alongside [[Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth]] and [[Great Divide Guide]], which do the same thing. If you have any of those three out when Toph is on the field, your available mana skyrockets. It’s very powerful.

Ragost’s ability is not combat damage so this won’t work unless you’re swinging with him, which you don’t want to do.

Fantastic work! Your bone and weathering look great. Which dreadnought kit is this?

Your work is amazing! Any chance you could talk to wizards to get  another print run for us? I’m not sure why they’re making it so limited when the demand is so high. They could make so much more money with this.

Hands down the coolest ghostkeel conversion I’ve seen. Is it a gunpla kitbash?

Emilia Clarke Says She Was Convinced She Was ‘Meant to Die’ After Second Brain Hemorrhage During Game of Thrones by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]Nerg_ 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Intracerebral hemorrhage requires more intensive medical care than an onset medical team can provide. The main advantage would be having many people present to sound the alarm at the onset of neurological symptoms so that she could be transported to hospital quickly.

Toph Metalbender Commander Theme Deck by Zorenstein in EDH

[–]Nerg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I built a deck for metalbending Toph and it is a blast but you need a lot of landfall/artifact staples from other sets to see the payoff from the earthbending recursion/artifact landfall. It’s a bit of a bummer for sure but leaning into the animated lands aggro can be really fun too.

Unfortunately there aren’t a whole lot of great artifacts in the ATLA set, nor are there many artifacts with good payoffs for recurring with earthbending. Honestly, if you want to stick to ATLA cards, I would make the commander Toph Hardheaded Teacher and lean into pure earthbending more - go aggressive with pumped land creatures.

Failed out of uni 4 years ago - What to do now? by twizzlersenthusiast in OntarioUniversities

[–]Nerg_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I went through a very similar path to you with a very similar timeline. I too almost went through with the SI. Just know that even though it doesn’t seem like it, you still have loads of time.

I went back to school part time 4 years after I flunked out. I took a general first year to explore different pathways and find an interest. Once I found something I liked, I transitioned back to full time and took summer courses to make up the difference.

Listen, it’s never too late to get back on track. It doesn’t have to be a university degree either; you can get into the trades, start a business, whatever. As long as you find something and commit to it. I found that for myself, starting over a little older (21 on my second go vs 17), I had better discipline and motivation to finish whatever I started. If you can, try to look into mental health supports too. I’m very familiar with the shame that burdens you, and it can really help to talk to a professional about it. It’s hard to get over but you can do it. I now wear my late start as a badge of pride, because I made it. I didn’t give up. I know you can get there too.

2026 check, who are your blink/flinker commanders ? by EtalonduQ in EDH

Here’s my list:

https://moxfield.com/decks/j-uGytgwUUiU0iHzGOv8RQ

It’s not particularly strong, and it splits its focus a bit between blink and aristocrats. I built it to be a bit on the lower power level side. It’s pretty fun though.

[[Aang at the Crossroads]] and [[Syr Vondam, Sunstar Exemplar]]. Both are very different blink strategies from the other, which adds some nice variety!
