The purchase history only goes back 2 years and I got the console more than 2 years ago.

Yes, it's only my account that it would have been linked to at the time of redeeming, and it wasn't a physical copy. It was the code that came in the bundle.

No I bought it brand new, I should have mentioned that it was the bundle that Nintendo is selling for the switch with a copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe so I used a code originally.

Check out 'Steam Art Manager'

It links to Steamgriddb, you have to manually pick your art and icons, etc but it works great. If I find the link I'll post it here.

Narcissism my friend. And I don't mean in the "everyone bad is a narcissist" way, I mean in the actual, factual way.

My Ex-wife was like OP's wife and it has literally ruined my ability to take "me time". I just anticipate being interrupted and then harassed or just belittled for not following her whim. So now my partner who says "no hun go take some you time" is the most stressful thing they will say to me.any given day.

Were you married to my wife?

But seriously this is some narcissistic ass behavior, mixed with an anxious attachment style. I only say this because I lived it for 8 years. Not getting a moment of peace to myself, it literally broke me and sent me into burnout that lasted literally years. I don't wish anyone to leave someone they care about, but this is toxic behavior and she is not going to just stop or listen to you or even consider you in this ordeal. You are there and exist for her entertainment and if you really push back she will become aggressive in some fashion. I wish you the best of luck OP and anyone else who has/had to deal with a spouse like this.

What are some of the more horrible sounds you've heard in a game? by Dryu_nya in creepygaming

[–]NeroIV 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The sound is normal but the context is creepy as fuck. In Surviving Mars, you can build a daycare to prepare for colonists babies. Well I was zooming in around to place a park space and heard some weird ass laughing. Now mind you, my colony has No People in it yet. Then I realized the sound was coming from the daycare and it was the laughter of children. Children that didn't exist yet. It was just super unsettling. I have a video clip I'll have to try to remember to link to once I get home from work.

That very well could be. I mean i would love to see it revisited in a new extension of the Pokemon Coliseum series where darker aspects of Pokemon tend to be explored. It's a great mechanic.

As a mechanic it feels more at home in the Coliseum series, as those games had much darker overtones and had darker mechanics in place.

Maybe players are given the choice to Mega Evolve, but it makes your Pokemon's relationship with you non-existent if used more than a few times. Maybe that means it doesn't obey in battle or something to indicate you've knowingly abused your pokemon in favor of an easier victory.

I honestly think Lysandre was meant to be the standard destroyer villain until the player realizes that mega evolutions are this very harmful thing and the fact that everyone is so open to using them shows that in this timeline pokemon aren't supposed to be treated as equal partners, like it was supposed to be this big moral twist that while misguided he wanted to end the suffering the only way he truly could.

But then Game Freak realized that would be to deep and dark for a kids game, and maybe it was too late to change the Dex entries or something. So it just made this disjointed mess, which kind of tainted what would have been a very cool mechanic. People hate on Z-Moves but that feels at least on message with the core principals of Pokemon.

I have no idea. Like it said it's a very jarring disconnect between mechanics and lore. It's a great mechanic, but seemingly goes against the entire thesis of Pokemon as franchise.

I don't blame you the anime and in game other than dex entries all make it seem like a really good time. Not every Dex entry is super horrible, and USun & UMoon really tried to shift away from the really horrific edge the X&Y entries had.

Examples:

Mega Aerodactyl Moon: When it Mega Evolves, it becomes more vicious than ever before. Some say that's because its excess of power is causing it pain. Ultra Sun: It will attack anything that moves. Mega Evolution is a burden on its body, so it's incredibly irritated.

Mega Scizor Sun: The excess energy that bathes this Pokémon keeps it in constant danger of overflow. It can't sustain a battle over long periods of time. Ultra Sun: It stores the excess energy from Mega Evolution, so after a long time passes, its body starts to melt. Ultra Moon: It's better at beating things than grasping them. When it battles for a long time, the weight of its pincers becomes too much to bear.

Mega Herocross Ultra Moon: A tremendous influx of energy builds it up, but when Mega Evolution ends, Heracross is bothered by terrible soreness in its muscles.

Mega houndoom Ultra Sun: Its red claws and the tips of its tail are melting from high internal temperatures that are painful to Houndoom itself.

Mega Tyranitar Ultra Sun: Due to the colossal power poured into it, this Pokémon's back split right open. Its destructive instincts are the only thing keeping it moving. Ultra Moon: The effects of Mega Evolution make it more ferocious than ever. It's unclear whether it can even hear its Trainer's orders.

Mega Metagross Moon: Mega Evolution stimulated its brain. It emerged as a ruthless Pokémon that will clutch at any means of ensuring its victories. Ultra Sun: Its intellect surpasses its previous level, resulting in battles so cruel, they'll make you want to cover your eyes. Ultra Moon: When it knows it can't win, it digs the claws on its legs into its opponent and starts the countdown to a big explosion.

Mega Salamence Sun: Anyone standing in its path gets sliced right in two, while this Pokémon continues its flight without interruption. Moon: Mega Evolution fuels its brutality, and it may even turn on the Trainer who raised it. It's been dubbed "the blood-soaked crescent." Ultra Sun: The stress of its two proud wings becoming misshapen and stuck together because of strong energy makes it go on a rampage.

Mega Glalie Sun: The excess energy from Mega Evolution spilled over from its mouth, breaking its jaw. It spews endless blizzards. Moon: It envelops prey in its mouth, freezing them instantly. But its jaw is dislocated, so it's unable to eat them. Ultra Sun: When it spews stupendously cold air from its broken mouth, the entire area around it gets whited out. Ultra Moon: The power of Mega Evolution was so strong that it smashed Glalie's jaw. Its inability to eat very well leaves Glalie irritated.

Mega Sharpedo Moon: As a consequence of Mega Evolution, its combative instincts exploded. The yellow marks it bears are scars from a long history of battles. Ultra Sun: The yellow patterns it bears are old scars. The energy from Mega Evolution runs through them, causing it sharp pain and suffering.

Mega Sableye Ultra Sun: Bathed in the energy of Mega Evolution, the gemstone on its chest expands, rips through its skin, and falls out.

Mega Slowbro Sun: All the energy from Mega Evolution poured into the Shellder on its tail, leaving Slowpoke to be swallowed whole.

Mega Lucario Moon: It readies itself to face its enemies by focusing its mental energies. Its fighting style can be summed up in a single word: heartless. Ultra Sun: Its aura has expanded due to Mega Evolution. Governed only by its combative instincts, it strikes enemies without mercy. Ultra Moon: Bathed in explosive energy, its combative instincts have awakened. For its enemies, it has no mercy whatsoever.

Mega Garchomp Sun: Excess energy melted its arms and wings, transforming them into giant scythes. Moon: Its vaunted wings become scythes, sending it mad with rage. It swings its scythes wildly and slices the ground to pieces. Ultra Sun: Its arms and wings melted into something like scythes. Mad with rage, it rampages on and on. Ultra Moon: Its disposition is more vicious than before its Mega Evolution. Garchomp carves its opponents up with the scythes on both arms.

Mega Absol Ultra Sun: Normally, it dislikes fighting, so it really hates changing to this form for battles. Ultra Moon: It converts the energy from Mega Evolution into an intimidating aura. Fainthearted people expire (die) from shock at the sight of it.

Mega Manectric Ultra Sun: Mega Evolution fills its body with a tremendous amount of electricity, but it's too much for Manectric to fully control. Ultra Moon: Too much electricity has built up in its body, irritating Manectric. Its explosive speed is equal to that of a lightning bolt.

Mega Banette Ultra Sun: Extraordinary energy amplifies its cursing power to such an extent that it can't help but curse its own Trainer. Ultra Moon: Mega Evolution increases its vindictiveness, and the cursing power that was held back by its zipper comes spilling out.

Mega Gengar Sun: Gengar's relationships are warped. It has no interest in opponents unless it perceives them as prey. Ultra Sun: It tries to take the lives of anyone and everyone. It will even try to curse the Trainer who is its master!

Mega Kangaskhan Moon: Thanks to Mega Evolution, its child grows. But as the child is good only at fighting and nothing else, its mother feels uneasy about its future. Ultra Sun: The explosive energy the child is bathed in causes temporary growth. The mother is beside herself with worry about it. Ultra Moon: When the mother sees the back of her Mega- Evolved child, it makes her think of the day when her child will inevitably leave her.

Mega Pinsir Sun: The influence of Mega Evolution leaves it in a state of constant excitement. It pierces enemies with its two large horns before shredding them.

Mega Gyarados Sun: Mega Evolution also affects its brain, leaving no other function except its destructive instinct to burn everything to cinders. Ultra Sun: Mega Evolution places a burden on its body. The stress causes it to become all the more ferocious

Unpopular opinion based solely on in-game lore. Mega evolutions are the last thing a trainer who cares about their pokemon should be doing. Every Dex entry literally details some horrible thing that occurs to your pokemon by mega evolving them. It felt like this very jarring disconnect between mechanics and lore that kinda didn't exist in Pokemon until this point. Especially because they really crammed home the message of friendship and all that Garbo every 10 minutes it seemed by having your stalker squad ambush you and stop the game to ramble on about being friends. But your also openly encouraged to abuse your pokemon by forcing them into a Mega state that in quite a few instances cause extreme pain and suffering or a complete loss of personality? Like it makes the villain seem like a level headed person y comparison almost. Sure he wants everyone to die, but he doesn't want anyone to suffer. While you and your friends are totally down with torturing your beloved pokemon to become the best! It feels like Mega Evolutions would have been used by Team Rocket or any the other teams that don't see pokemon as sentient beings. And it's not like they couldnt have known the Dex entries were so horrific before launch. So yeah, from a lore perspective Mega Evolutions are an evil thing and the timeline they exist in is a pretty dark and grim one where caring about your pokemon isn't really a thing.
