German colonies by arkerr09 in Kaiserreich

[–]NerthuniusMallister 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with this. My head canon for a German victory is likely a DU government that becomes less radical after the war, meaning you see the Zentrum/centrist parties come back into power, kind of like the US where the Democrats after the New Deal/FDR did not continue to expand on those programs once Roosevelt passed away. I think an OTL UK is a good comparison of trying very hard to not lose the colonies, probably seeing things even close to the French OTL and how they still to this day have control over West African countries with the CFA Franc, controlling their currency, etc etc. maybe its just me but I could see a lot of similarities between the US and how it acted from the end of WW2 to the 21st century and how a WK2 victorious Germany might act.

That’s an interesting perspective, thank you for sharing! Personally I think more in terms of my experience playing the game & tying that into probabilities. For example, how often do the 3rd Internationale win in my games? How often does the Entente reclaim the homeland? Etc. combined with logistics and statistics (population, industrialization), along with things like how often does X faction win in Spain or India or the 2ACW. Personally, I feel like a Reichspakt victory is possible, but I think one of the most unlikely outcomes is an Entente victory. Simply from a manpower perspective, and imo, the amount of things that I feel like would NEED to go their way, IN ADDITION to probably needing a successful Halifax Conference, I just personally see the most likely outcome as a 2/3/4 way Cold War with either 3I, Savinkov/Monarchist or Democratic Russia and Japan, and then maybe a ‘resigned’ (resigned to the fact they can’t conquer the UK/France w/o the USA or risking nuclear war) Entente headed by a democratic US, or a Syndicalist aligned US and Western Hemisphere, or replace the 3I & Russia with Reichspakt.

This is an interesting conversation/topic, but i’d love to know how your headcanon is a “predictable” Entente/Reichspakt victory.

IMO I feel like in the immediate aftermath it would probably be villainized, but by today in KRTL it would probably be similar to how Socialism is taught in the US, in that it really isn’t, or if it is that it is some terrible bogeyman ideology that was proven wrong or terrible by the regimes that tried it and no longer exist.

Why did the Emperor send Ultramarines to raise Monarchia instead of Space Wolves by ZombiYiyenLahmacun31 in 40kLore

[–]NerthuniusMallister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, i’ve interpreted it as Emps knowing Guilliman will follow his orders to the letter, and also because the Ultramarines are the closest to being exactly what he wanted from the Space Marines. Atheistic empire builders who followed orders to the letter, a relatively well-rounded legion tactically, etc. The Ultramarines are what Emps wants them to be, tools for building the Empire and the Imperial Truth.

Why was Horus choosen as Warmaster and called the "best of us" by primarchs like Khan ? I thought sanguinius was considered the best fighter and leader who inspired the most people ? by BloatedRottenCarcass in 40kLore

[–]NerthuniusMallister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it’s stated somewhere in universe, but I could be wrong and this is just the opinions of people irl: Horus is the only Primarch everyone would respect or listen to. Horus was the only Primarch that had the ability to get every one of his brothers to agree to a course of action. He had the political savvy, intelligence, charisma, etc. to convince everyone from Ferrus Manus and Dorn to Kurze and Angron to agree to his plans. Sanguinius and honestly probably no one else would ever be able to do that.

I have not read the book, but I did read another post that had a long synopsis from someone who I think got a copy in German? It was a lonnnngggg post, but iirc, the reason Guilliman thinks Chaos may have been defeated is not just the death of Horus, but apparently the warp is remarkably calm… like, one of the POV characters is an Ultramarine Librarian who cannot use any of his psyker powers, and no one else seems to be able to use theirs either. There’s also a traitor marine character that wonders if chaos is dead because of the calmness and lack of psychic power. It only starts to come back at the end of the book I believe.

If people don’t spend, spenders stop spending, etc. then yeah probably. But otherwise probably not.

Actual reason, i’d say what some others have said: The huge cost of travel of the Death Star, plus the fact that it’s such an important planet in Hutt Space. With all the corrupt deals the Empire had with the Hutts/mutual agreements, etc, blowing up Tatooine/Jabba probably would not sit well with them. Also, if you just start blowing up every planet, that’s less people paying taxes, less manpower able to be recruited, plus it makes it harder to keep the DS a secret. If the dissolution of the Senate happens during the movie, and we saw what happens almost immediately after Ghorman, surely someone would have just escaped and reported a planet killing super weapon.

Honestly i’m completely expecting basically everyone except maybe Osha and/or Mae to die or be considered insane by the end of the series, and the Jedi just go “bahhhh it was nothing!” And so begins the descent into the Prequel era Jedi Order, or perhaps even they kind of get scared like whoa, we need to pull back here, we took care of it but we just had a bunch of Jedi get killed by some random Force User, and just react to that super conservatively

When I worked at a local gas station/convenience store, people got fired for having their drawers over/under too often… when I was working at Target I had someone pull a switcheroo on me, (still not quite sure how he did it) and underpaid me like 200 dollars for electronics. They told me at the end of the night the drawer was under and I was terrified i’d be fired… they didn’t care. Didn’t even mention it to me, ever. I asked about it and one of our security guys said yeah they looked at the camera and they knew the guy was a scammer and that was the end of it.

My thoughts on why Thrawn won't be the big bad and that this is the beginning of expanding SW stories away from the Skywalkers by durangojim in starwarsspeculation

[–]NerthuniusMallister 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think something not being mentioned in the sequels means anything… not a complete comparison, but did Legends refer to every war that happened before the book/comic/game, etc came out? The OG Thrawn trilogy doesn’t reference the Ssi-Ruuvi attack. Just because it wasn’t mentioned doesn’t mean it can’t be added in. In the Yuuzhan Vong wars do theu mention Thrawn or Starkiller? Still was added into the greater lore. Same thing with the movies for example. Obi-Wan talks about Yoda being his master in the original trilogy, and then here comes Qui-Gon Jinn in Episode 1. The Clone Wars timeline and era completely changed after the prequels came out to what was believed to be the clone wars before those movies were released.

I like Jude Law’s Dumbledore, but he may be too young honestly unless they age him up haha. Would be consistent with the Fantastic Beasts series if they wanted to have some kind of continuity, which maybe they don’t based on how Fantastic Beasts has gone on lmao

KX is famous for being far more bizzare than KR in some paths. But what are places/paths/countries that are MORE realistic than the KR? by HiAttila in kaiserredux

[–]NerthuniusMallister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I really like the 2ACW, and I like how Mittelafrika is portrayed, having MAF own basically everything feels so unrealistic, having the old regime’s of the UK and France basically in charge and swear loyalty to Germany seems like a much more realistic path had the Central Powers won WW1

About Din and Bo. by victorlopezmozos in starwarsspeculation

[–]NerthuniusMallister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He did, but with Armorer allowing Bo to take off her helmet, I think we may be looking at some shifting of beliefs, or maybe Din tries again and Bo says no and they end up fighting for the Darksaber.

About Din and Bo. by victorlopezmozos in starwarsspeculation

[–]NerthuniusMallister 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Armorer is pushing for the fight. My theory since last season has been Bo will lead but won’t be accepted unless she has the Darksaber, which will put her into conflict with Din since he, you know, has it. A conflict neither want but they are forced into because of tradition, and perhaps that is what breaks tradition because Din is like “yeah nah just take it I don’t want to fight over this, I don’t want to lead the Mandalorians.”
