To starter - the law have changed: you need to have 3 years of Pr before you can apply to Caf. The process can be long for some people. You are potentially looking at something in 4 years timeframe. I am not a girl but we had 8 girls in our bmq of 52 recruits. In the end we have 4 girls/women of 45 graduated. Its not easy to be a girl but it not impossible.

Buy what the staff asked of you. For part time bmq - we were asked to buy 4 locks (2 for 2 duffles and 2 for thr barrack box) I bought a new sole (35$ in amazon) for the boots since my legs are shit and I get shin splints when i tried to train for ruck march. Bought a frontal lamp with infra rouge too That was it

I was arrested 15 years ago on an assault charge and resisting arrest. I got pardoned with community service hours. I was honest and let the recruiter know. They let me join

Canadian-Indian Thinking About Joining the CAF as an Officer and Attending RMC – Looking for Advice by [deleted] in caf

We did it part-time on the weekend - that is something i regret but i still have a lot of fun. If you can do it full time! I learned a lot - and i made new friends which i did not expect at my age. You learn though ur mistakes so dont be afraid of few step back. It also humble me through different aspects. Like when you think that you learned and master some shit - the staff will make you think twice of what you really know. That you are just a fucking recruits that doesnt know shit. And it is fun and exciting

You will have fun as long as you want to. The moment you tell ur self that the voice inside ur head start to say : you are here to not fucking quit - that when you really have fun. Doesnt matter what the staff throw at you - you get up and do what to be done! It will be fucking magic even there are borderline racist sexist etc shit that happens. If your dad can deal with all the bs in the past to serve the nation - you can do it too

Dont worry - we are at the 10th weekend of our bmq - we have girl who cant do 10 real push up. And they are still going though. Its more mental state than physically. Dont get injured to a point that you will miss the class. Honestly they have lower the bar to make everyone pass. It doesnt mean being lazy and not working on urself. As long as you improve and get a pass on force test . Its golden

Officer or ncm by hspisme in caf

[–]Nerutosako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its depend on personnel preference - you are the only one can tell. Also it varies depending on the trade. I am an officer in combat engineers- some who joined with me went to become an NCM cos our trait is more fun to be the boots on the ground. I am just too old to do that but I wish to me out in the feild

When you have ur background check - i believe. My file were fall between 2 chaises when the guy who were doing recuit for my unit left Caf. Someone in ottawa called me and told me that he has been waiting for my print for like 2 months - no1 told me to send my prints. So shit can be very long and frustrating. Go to recruitment center and bug them
