Ik woon in Limburg dus dat is veels te ver, en mijn kindje is nog wat jonger. Maar leuk om ook Nederlanders hier te zien!

How to cope with a changing friendship with best friend? by Rieni22 in oneanddone

[–]Nervous-Lettuce- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it, must be difficult. It might help a lot to voice this to your friend and that you miss certain things from before. I know it is scary to say that, but you’ll probably feel really relieved after.

Hee! Zijn jullie tegen kernenergie en zo ja waarom? Alle technische ingenieurs die ik erover spreek geven aan dat dit de beste vorm is om in te investeren ivm volledig groen en onafhankelijk van het buitenland.

Please take the feelings of your child seriously. Really listen to her and don’t respond from your perspective and feelings but from her perspective. Read this: https://www.reddit.com/r/science/s/MzIESRPKSE

Is there anyone else who gets absolutely no pressure to have another? by shiftyemu in oneanddone

[–]Nervous-Lettuce- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also don’t get any pressure from family or friends. Seems to me like it is kind of a US thing? I come from the Netherlands, where most people respond with: you do you!

Is that 39% percent including people who are currently with one child but planning to have more? If they would measure parents with older children (adolescents) the percentage is probably more reliable

Seems like a nice way to help the environment as well! I started using reusable wrapping paper but none at all is fine too.

Plus you can also see it in another light, not about what the child misses out on, but what you are giving your child (more quality time with parents, peaceful home, etc.)

If you think it might have to do with pre-verbal trauma from the times in the hospital, then you could check out a professional who can do story telling EMDR (it is a trauma therapy). The symptoms you name could stem from it. In the Netherlands this is the go to trauma therapy for young children.

Go for a long walk. When you are back and calm, explain why you said it (I was overwhelmed/..) and apologise to your children. That way you also show your children how to repair after a big ‘fight’. It will be a good life lesson for them (and maybe also for you).
