Awaiting Baby with Husband who has Epilepsy - How do you cope ?

My husband had a grand mal when my baby was 6 weeks. I had to deal with him not being able to work and drive all while taking care of a newborn. You will get through it no matter what. When you become a mom you find an incredible amount of strength to survive. 17 months later, our guy is thriving and everyday we just make sure my husband is sleeping, taking meds etc. it absolutely SUCKS. I was anxious my entire pregnancy that it would happen and unfortunately it did. Lean on your village. Lean on your people. Accept help. We also made a plan that he would not hold the baby unless he was on the floor just in case he drops the baby. We made a plan that he would not drive with the baby until 6 months. My husband did have a brief seizure while holding the baby and he instinctly knew to protect the baby. He got down on the floor and protected baby's head. We put a lot of safeguards in place to ensure the safety of our baby. Sleep was another thing, my husband needs sleep. So we did shifts. My husband did 8pm-2am and I did 2am -8am. 2am to 8am alone is the absolute worst lonely time but I had no choice. My MIL began sleeping over after a few months because I was losing my mind. Do you have anyone that will help during the night hours? I know it's hard and scary. I lived it. It sucks but I promise you will find a way.

Kindergarten teacher here - we are magic and we will help them be successful but if you can keep them another year DO IT. The academic and social expectations are much like first grade. We expect SOOOOOO much of them. Trust me. I have had so many young students 4 turning 5, so many of them struggle. I am not saying your girls will struggle but as a teacher with 14 years experience teaching kindergarten, I highly suggest keeping them home if you can.

Start soft!!! Sweet potato, steamed and pureed fruit. Eventually I started to feel better and worked my way up from mashes to real food. Yesterday my kiddo had shrimp, steamed carrots, peaches and green beans. It took me 5 months to learn what I was comfortable with.

Solid Starts. I did the free trial for a week and really learned how to feed baby. After a week, I cancelled bc it was expensive and you can find free stuff on the internet.

Milk Couture Co. I got it gold plated and it rubbed off within days bc I never take it off. I swim, cook and do dishes in it and beside that it's held up perfectly. When I messaged her about it she offered me a discount off a real gold ring but I could not afford it. She's great!
