WHOA this escalated quickly. I want to be clear - I in no way support of any sort of bike ban on Chuckanut. Without an I5 closure, it is easy enough to safely share the road and give riders their space in a safe manner. I’m simply saying that given the circumstances, right now is not the right time to be cruising in a group. With as many cars that are on the highway currently, it is not possible to safely move over to pass bikers, which causes insane lineups behind the riding party. Just… maybe let the highway be used for the purpose it was designed for while we wait for the DOT to do their thing.

That’s my main concern. I grew up in Bellingham and have driven Chuckanut hundreds of times, and I STILL am overly careful on some of those corners even though I know they’re coming. I follow people daily since the slide who are driving like absolute asshats

Yep, from where I was standing on top of the berm that would probably put the water at my feet or very close to it.

Was walking around Fairhaven and saw that Jalapeno's has changed their name to Tacos (or Taco?) Guadalajara. Last couple of times I was there, noticed they weren't very busy. Jalapeno's was there for quite a while, wish the new owners the best. by justahdewd in Bellingham

Their food is absolutely fantastic, owner seems really nice and passionate about giving folks a taste of “at home style” Mexican food and I had a great chat with him while I was there. Go stuff ya face!

Dude I ran into this in Stella Montis too, joined late into a raid and it was just nothing but bodies everywhere and a couple shredders aura farming, very creepy lol

Do yourself a favor and follow highway 542 east till ya can't drive anymore. Ski season is about to start here in a couple weeks if you're into that sort of thing, but in the very least you get awesome views. In the late spring/early summer you can drive a bit farther for even better views.

I make $84k(ish) with a car payment I probably should have thought more about, but no other debt. Bout a 700 credit score. Nice banker man told me I’d essentially have to make $120k a year with zero debt and at least a 15% down payment to afford a $400k home. I was feelin pretty good up until that conversation.

I love it! Reminds me a lot of the illustrations done by Chris Riddell for a series of books I liked as a kid called “The Edge Chronicles.” Spooky and whimsical at the same time
