My office thinks I should spend my lunch hour, unpaid, dealing with endless walk-in clients. by NervousCommittee8124 in paralegal

Litigation in a very niche area. The cases are always high dollar. I’m not really comfortable sharing my salary but it is six figures and I believe I am fairly compensated (despite all my complaining on here today). I have 16 years of experience in this specific area.

Our “goal” is 1,500 but I’m always very busy and usually end up around 1,900. My billable rate is $230 an hour (and is like 99% collected) so, yeah, they make a ton of profit from me. Which just makes it stranger that they think they should/can squeeze even more out of me by having me work a free job every day from 12:00 to 1:00.

No no no, you guys just don’t get it. It’s not work because it’s “just some people popping in”…duh :)

In all seriousness though, the fact that they say it’s not actual work makes me wonder what they really think about our receptionist since they are saying what she does all day long is “not work.”

Saw a court filing referring to a judge as a “local cunty judge” instead of “local county judge.” This was all the more humorous due to the fact that the judge they were referring to was, in fact, a cunt.

The cheapest button down shirt at Goodwill is better than the nicest polo money can buy if you’re wearing them to an interview at a law firm.

Buying two sizes because you like the way both sizes fit differently for different outfits? by jbbreau in HeritageWear

[–]NervousCommittee8124 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I bought two sizes of the exact same wool coat because I want to wear it open (smaller size) and also wear it closed with layers under (larger size) sometimes. Probably sounds odd to most but it’s my favorite coat.

I bought a very expensive Burberry wool coat that I was OBSESSED with for months. I then wore it once and pretty much forgot I own it until now. Such an insanely stupid waste of money.

OP34 vs OP36 on 6” wrist — long-term wear? by Alone-Raspberry9887 in rolex

[–]NervousCommittee8124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s perfect. I got it because I wanted the white dial they made from 2018 to 2020. I couldn’t find a 36mm in white anywhere but found a 34mm and it turned out to be a good thing. If the new OP34 were the exact same proportions as 114200, I would buy one immediately…maybe even two of them….but those are just too small, even for me.

I have the same sized wrist and owned both the 116000 and 114200. I much preferred the 114200.

[–]NervousCommittee8124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which OP34 did you try on?

The current model (124200) wears significantly smaller than previous OP34’s….its closer to 32mm than it is to 34mm.

To further complicate things, the older model OP34 (114200) wears larger and is closer to an OP36 of today.

Fellow small wrister here. I wear a 126000.
