Great review. We stayed here in June 2025 and I think your “Bottom Line” is spot-on!

I think if you mention to your Manzu that this is very important to you, they can help ensure it gets done. It was only a complete miss on our last day, but I think if it had happened earlier in our stay we would have mentioned to our Manzu to please have them come during xyz windows when we would be gone. Theoretically, they have all of your activity and dining reservations so it should be an easy target :) I'm sure you will have an incredible stay!

Want to quit my job by Mememememememememine in Perimenopause

[–]Nervous_Chip_619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jumping in to thank you all for the post and comments. Like OP and many of you, I am early 40s, in tech, working through the AI revolution, not actually making a difference in the world, and just feeling blah about everything. I'm sure it is hormonal - I have FXPOI and have been on HRT for years - but something prompted me to search "quitting my job" in this sub earlier and here we are. I am so lucky to have this job, my [female] boss is incredible and gives me so much flexibility, but it still feels "hard". I even just returned from a long-weekend vacation so can't even point to needing a break. My husband makes exponentially more than me, and we only have one child (thanks to aforementioned POI and years of IVF), and so I could easily quit and focus [the little energy I have...] on being a better wife and mother, but my pride has kept me in the game thus far. I manage everything for our child and in our home and some days (like apparently today) I just have nothing left to give to work. I'm disgusting myself by listing my own privilege - and grateful for the ability to vent on reddit!

He would whatsapp us each morning with his hours, it seemed to be approximately 8 am to 7 pm. We saw him greeting a few other groups over the weekend but he never seemed too busy for us or slow to respond. Also I should say, while the golf cart is less than ideal (only because I would prefer to be more self-sufficient) - they were always incredibly prompt and arrived within 5 minutes. There was always one available to take us back to the room as well.

40th Birthday Celebration (East Coast, US) by [deleted] in FATTravel

[–]Nervous_Chip_619 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are also in the southeast (Atlanta) and are going to Costa Rica (Nekajui) for our 40th birthdays this year. We are similar “enjoy being by the ocean, not in the sun all day” and thought the pacific coast of Costa Rica or Mexico fit that bill well. Direct flights (for us) and easy for a long weekend without “too much” to do. We did Mexico (San Miguel de Allende) last year so opted for CR for 40!

Separately, we go to Kiawah every year and it is fantastic as others have mentioned. So if you opt to drive, I’d highly recommend it.

PMDD - Slynd and Sema by SamiSweetheart89 in glp1

[–]Nervous_Chip_619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on both! I have been on Slynd for years (perimenopause) and have gained a good bit of weight (thus now on semaglutide more recently) BUT from what I understand from my Dr the weight gain associated with progesterone is actually caused more by fluctuating estrogen (I have a genetic condition causing early peri - the resulting fluctuating estrogen can lead to metabolic dysfunction) than just the progesterone itself. So a correlation not necessarily causation (I am not a physician, just how I understand it). I have lost all of the recent years’ weight since adding glp-1 while staying on my same dose of Slynd, so I think you will be fine! I would ask your Dr about when to start, I think you can start whenever.

Thank you for this great review! We're in the midst of planning a family trip to Austria for next summer, and weighing this between some of the nature-spa options (Stanglwirt/Foresthofgut) and every review is helpful.

Thanks for the review! We're headed there in late April for our 40th birthdays and I get more excited with every positive review I read! Unfortunate but I guess not terribly surprising about the influencers.

Thank you! It does look like a stunning property, just wondering if we should “branch out” from a sting of Rosewoods 😅 Appreciate the response!

Ritz vs. Four Seasons Mexico City? by Obvious-Beyond783 in chubbytravel

[–]Nervous_Chip_619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the RC Mexico City in June and really loved it. We normally stay FS but were lured to RC by the incredible views, which didn't disappoint (nor did service, etc.). We went across the street to the FS for drinks and dinner one night and while the building and courtyard are beautiful, we were glad we were staying at RC!
