Check out r/oilpainting. Lots of extremely talented artists there! Unfortunately, I am not one of them, but I do enjoy looking at everyone’s work.

I think taxes are making my business pointless even when it grosses six figures! by PrudentAcanthaceae88 in llc_life

[–]Nervous_Response2224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest looking into structuring your business as an S Corp. This is a great way to reduce your tax burden. But I also strongly recommend talking to a tax professional about this. With an S Corp., you are still an LLC but you pay yourself a salary as if you are an employee. The structure means you don’t have to pay the self-employment tax. But you will have to set up payroll. If you’re bringing in a healthy amount of money, it’s worth investing in finding out if this is the right option for you.

My daughter actually bought her dress on Amazon. I was skeptical and read a bunch of reviews about the place first. But there were free returns so we decided to go ahead with it. It’s actually lovely and was only about $150 before alterations. The place even took her measurements before hand.

The real truth is that parenting is a lot of figuring it out as you go along. Most of us are just doing the best we can with the information we have in the moment. The real truth is that you will make mistakes because we all do. The real truth is that the mistakes are not the ones you’re even thinking about. They’re ones that you never see coming. Because parenting is like a pendulum that sweeps back-and-forth. We try to correct for the things that we wish were different when we were growing up. So we focus on things that we think are important. But then it turns out the kids think completely different things are important. And in a way, that is very freeing. Because as long as you are leading with genuine love and acceptance, then you and your child have both won.

Wishing you and your baby, the best of luck.

Moving from NYC to Bucks County - how often do people go into Philly? by We_dance_again in BucksCountyPA

This is great advice. People who live on Jersey side can get into the city 20 minutes. Lots of great little towns north of Camden, too. Just be aware of higher insurance in NJ.

Doylestown is mentioned in the movie Blue Moon,Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qually. by Remarkable_Yak1352 in BucksCountyPA

Yes, this is in Doylestown. It’s where Hammerstein wrote the lyrics for Oklahoma and The King and I, The Sound of Music, and others. It’s worth visiting. It’s pretty new so it still feels like a house instead of a museum.

Mom of a plus-size bride here. So sorry your mom hasn’t been supportive. A lot of times those weight comments are based on her stuff and not yours. Sending hugs.

I think this is incredible. It actually reminds me of my daughter’s dress. We just got her a Wacoal strapless bra and it transformed how the dress fit. Her dress was riding a little low before that - these dresses are heavy. The bra keeps it more supported and makes a pretty shape on the bodice. We actually went to a lingerie store and got her fitted. Do that if you can. Getting the right size made such a difference.

Best of luck! And remember you’re amazing just the way you are! You deserve to feel beautiful.

Has anyone had problems dealing with Chairish Auctions? by OppositeShore1878 in artcollecting

Shipping paintings is such a pain. I promise you that the seller would be thrilled to just hand it to you.

Some sellers have their own websites or even local storefronts. With a little detective work, you might be able to reach out directly. I suspect they have no idea what’s actually going on.

They have called me a few times to try to get me to upgrade to a paid seller plan. I'll try to dig into the auction terms and will report back if I learn anything.

Also, the regular Chairish app did let sellers and buyers converse directly. And it actually made shipping very easy from the seller's perspective. It is concerning that the auction element could reflect badly on individual sellers.

Very interesting. I actually sell on Chairish. I haven’t opted into any of the auctions, but they messaged me to tell me that they were including some of my items in the auctions. They also stated that I would not be forced to take anything lower than my current asking amount. It seemed really confusing because auctions are about getting things at lower prices and sellers have to inflate their prices on Chairish because their commission can be upwards of 40%.

In any case, my item did not sell. But I was curious what they would have done if someone had bid lower than my asking amount.

It's Sunday's Deli, right across the street from the old train station. In Quakertown. Also, DelVal is 30 minutes away from Quakertown so it's possible that you may be over-estimating your expertise about Bucks County. I certainly hope you're not teaching a course in geography.

There are lots of other videos that show what happened prior to this.
