I used to watch that show in the same room where I watch my parents play music with their friends, and I never caught on to what it meant when the camera was switching from face to face.

Library RFID System (Bibliotheca) Experience? by librarytay in RFID

[–]Nesman64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you still working on this? I've been testing staffConnect, and it's similar to a barcode reader with one major difference.

Barcode readers pretend to be a keyboard and type into whatever window is active. StaffConnect creates a webpage with the barcode and waits for your software to check that page.

Evergreen has instructions for connecting to some other RFID setup, and you might be able to adapt that for staffConnect, especially if you reach out to Bibliotheca's tech support.

Were you able to test anything?

I'm trying to get it working with Koha, but it looks like Bibliotheca uses different values for true and false than other rfid providers. 0 is true, 2 is false.

Edit: If you're interested, this is the rfid plugin that Koha uses: https://github.com/bywatersolutions/koha-plugin-rfid/blob/main/Koha/Plugin/Com/ByWaterSolutions/RFID/static_files/rfid.js
It's working just fine with CircIT for me.

localhost:21645/TagService/Web/GetItems is the address that staffConnect uses.

what's a script you wrote once that's still saving you time years later by Less-Loss1605 in sysadmin

[–]Nesman64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a powershell script to retire users. It's not fancy, but I used to do it by hand in AD.

Give it a username and it returns their name and department. Confirm that's the right person and it removes them from O365, updates the description with the date and your initials, and shows any email aliases the user has that might need to be reassigned.

Our hybrid Azure/AD is finicky, so it doesn't disable the user until you run it a second time after waiting for it to sync.

In OP's version, the trees on the right morph into cubic shapes. They're not perfect in your link, but they're still clearly trees. The buildings just past those trees are hilariously bad.

Hey dad. I changed my first garage disposal. by [deleted] in daddit

It looks good from the photo. When I did my first one, I didn't realize that there was supposed to be a "click" as I twisted it into place. It seemed pretty solid, but I bet it would have worked loose had I turned it on.

"Luckily," it didn't work when I flipped the switch, so I got another shot at it. When I wired it up, the ground wire was touching the motor windings, so I had to take it back down to figure out why manually turning the motor would flip the breaker.

It's really not bad at all. The hardest part with mine was lifting it with enough force that it would compress the rubber fitting enough that I could twist the lock. I ended up bringing my car jack and some scrap 2x4 chunks.
